Nokia X6 review: Going up the ladder

18 January 2010
In the world of Nokia it's all about evolution, rather than revolution. So don't expect the specs on the X6 to blow your mind. The handset is the next step for the market leader scrambling to make up for a late start in touch- screens. To be honest, the Symbian S60 touch...

Symbian however has a horrible UI and tbh the UI on the nexus is really not much better. Never been interested in Nokia, Samsung, LG etc.. Because all the do is whack in hardware that doesn't work with each other or their software. Much more interested in Apple, RIM and Palm who make more real world innovations.

What's so high end about X6? It's a perfect example of mid end device, mid end screen resolution and size, mid-low end processor, ram, camera, materials. 32GB of internal memory does not justify to call it high end. Take CWM and accessories out, and you have a perfect 300Euro mid end device and that's it.

the most important component that makes me buy a touch screen phone is the processor .

as long as nokia uses these stupid slow processors they will never rule the touch screen phone market . cause now phone have the snapdragon processors. nokia is way behind . even motorola is surging ahead .

nokia needs to dump this slow and stupid symbian and load android or winmo on their phones and then people will start to notice them again .

i was a die hard nokia fan who moved on to hd2 and the nexus one . nokia is dead for me for now . they seriously need to innovate with more powerful and faster phones . !!!

Wow, i love nokia and all, and the 5800, though it annoyed the crap out of me with its bugginess and loads of hardware problems was a great phone a first nokia touchscreen, but now that they've had numerous attempts...they're still making phones like this? I actually laughed out loud at that ridiculous attempt of a racing game

                    Piece of advice

never touch any Symbian 5th edition for now...Cause Nokia will going to overhaul it. Wait until they release the new Touch UI.

Wait for the price to saturate. They wanna make this their flagship XM phone, thus the high premium. IMO, the 5800 should have been priced closer to this when it was launched a year back. Instead, it was seemed as a affordable, bang-for-buck Nokia's FIRST touchscreen device. Now that Nokia got a hang of this ballgame, by starting to introduce capacitative touchscreen in the X6, it is a just a prelude for more promises from Nokia. Bottomline is, if you intend to get the X6, wait a while more for the price to drop. If not, just sit back and wait for new releases coming your way from the Finnish outfit.

                        Ryu Kiseki, 19 Jan 2010Samsung i8910 > Nokia X6, if you're looking for a S60v5 ... more+10

here in Malaysia the X6 are being price quoted either similarly or a bit HIGHER than the i8910 Omnia HD o.O!?Which means that people have to be either a very very dedicated Nokia loyalist or high on some cheap/exotic narcotics to even consider this as a good purchase over the Omnia HD.What the hell is up with Nokia's market price strategy I wonder.

why too laggy? NOT ARM 600Mhz with PowerVR graphics accelerator. RAM is again 128MB (too N97....too easy to deplete)...why Nokia....why? don't sell this phone in the philippines...we'd rather have the N900, c'mon!

Too expensive for what it offers. They should sell this for $400 or less.

O.k Nokia are trying to compete at the top with the Touch Screen mobiles, but they have got realise to sell mobiles you have got to offer a affordable price to get people excited buying mobiles, but the X6 is to Overpriced an people will wait till the price drops an the software updated, more will buy the 5800 nowdays as it a fair price an very good music player, the X6 not so good i have read on other reviews
