Hi guys,
I am really confused between legend and desire. While desire is more powerful, legend has looks to die for. Is there a substantial performance difference between them. Feature wise, i cant find anything missing in legend. Is it really worth it to spend those extra bucks on desire? Please advice...

How good are battery doors because it looks cheap?
What I notice is that battery door is not tights to alu body? There is millimeter or so ,.. space between both materials?
Is that ok or I got lemon?

Seems a very nice phone. Anyone could comment on whether the aluminium casing will affect the reception of wireless signal, slowing down its browsing speed?

I very nearly bought one of these (or a Desire), but both phones suffer from the fact that Google itself doesn't correctly recognise them! Many applications are unavailable which should be, and there's no sign of this being fixed. See many of the Android forums such as this, and spread the frustration until Google fixes it!

I've got a HTC Legend and i'd say its as fast as the Iphone 3gs, no lag, especially using the web browser, loads full websites swiftly and seems to do things fluidly, e.g. pitch to zoom. can't compare it to the desire as i've never used one to make a comparison but the Legend is more than capable of doing everything the Desire can, and whats more, the Legend is a beautiful looking phone, very astheticly pleasing and is by no means low-tech! I love this phone !

A not-so-wild guess.

why is vidoe call camera always a disadvantage to gsmarena. not many networks supports vidoe calling. you have to have good 3g coverage to use video call.
so it is not a disadvantage.

jj, 25 Mar 2010I don't get it, a phone is supposed to dial numbers at best... moreWhile you're true about camcorders, there should be Xvid support out of the box. Most people these days use phones (smartphones, even more) as a daily entertainment device.
It's feasible, so we shouldn't need to convert videos or use two devices while on the bus/train.

DAMN YOU HTC! can't they think of something new instead of stealing the 2 finger zoom function that apple has for some time now. THIEFS!
even though it is a nice phone.
got the magic for a little while now next to my iphone. and android really is a superb os.
the review of this phone is really informing.
Thanks alot.

I got hold of this phone yesterday, and it really is a fantastic piece of kit. Flash doesn't want to load well for me either, the BBC video embeds didn't want to play ball at all but this is no real loss to me.
To all those saying that with the Desire's better specs and similar cost this leaves no choice, well some of us still like our phone to fit in our trouser pockets. Over my last phone the SE C902 it's marginally bigger but not noticably, and I'd rather not encounter the Nexus One issues of screens cracking. In fact, the documentation that comes with this specifically recommends removing the phone from your pocket before sitting down now.
App store isn't as friendly as using Apple's via iTunes and the apps generally aren't as polished, but that's something I expect to have rectified itself within the next 6 months or so.

Great review!!
However, there's one little slip up in the review.
When you open the battery compartment you do not need to hold the phone upright to remove the battery.
There's a little red lever on the left side in the compartment. Pull it out, en presto, there's your battery :-)
Besides that, ( as mentioned before ) great review of a great phone!
