i think gsmarena should have compared spica to heroinstead of legend and x10, even if spica has 800mhz processor, remember that spica is a 2009 device!

helix launcher makes the UI so much better. pantheon is terrible. gsmarena should add a section about alternate homes which make things faster on the spica

brynn, 07 Apr 2010Is this it from now on??,,out comes another touchscreen and... moreYes indeed, the world has come to an end now, all that exists will collapse and everything will turn into one single unsignificant dot. Just because of touchscreen phones.

This phone is perfect for me... it has anything that suited my needs.. :)
In my country (Indonesia), HTC phones are expensive, like hero costs $400++.... :( (But the sense UI is eye candy too)
Samsung Galaxy Spica is good if you can't afford like HTC Hero...
While 5800XM is aging now, and the OS, well...not very good (in my opinion and yes it does have a lot of apps and good feature like camera, video, etc)
Still, Spica is the best for mid-range android smartphone with Android 2.1......... Thanks GSMA for the review!

the phone can transfer files via bluetooth.. i'm dissapointed with the review..
for any user wanting the taste of android and cant shell out huge amounts on htc phones this is a best alternative..
i ve used nokia 5800 and this phone..the moment you get used to android interface nokia 5800 seems cheap plastic with stupid interface(for a touch screen)
so for the price range i feel this is the best bet:)

When I read "Standard miniUSB port" I thought 'Praise the Lord'. Then on page two it says "microUSB port on top". Please don't waste my time.

I bought this in Dubai, UAE. Doesn't have Android Market even though Manual says that. Calling Samsung support and they are not equipped to support this phone and doesn't have any knowledge. All most all apps crashes always. This was my first smart phone, never ever will I buy Samsung or Google phones. have used a friends Iphone which is far far better. They are also not providing any updates to 2.1 also. PC doesn't recognize USB after installing some apps, you have to reset the phone for USB to be detected by PC.This is a pure crap phone. I am not using the phone now, gone back to my Nokia 5310 which is far better.

Get your facts right..gsmarena.
I can transfer files through bluetooth without rooting the device.
And this is the cheapest Android device in the market and I really loved it. The Spica may not be a full-blown spec'd Android device that's in HTC line-up or it's big brother (I9000S & BEAM)..but hey, I still got a piece of (cup)cake

Damn this phone sucks... guess I'll be holding on to my 5530 a while longer. Hopefully symbian 4 will be worthwhile, as symbian 3 is just the same, but slightly faster, which really means nothing to me.

Is this it from now on??,,out comes another touchscreen and every single one is rubbish,,whats the point anymore???
Every firm is just pushing out rubbish unfinished devices all the time..Are buttons ever going to appear again,,clamshells too? or is this it forever now?? What will happen tommorrow and next week more touchscreens will come out and be rubbish..It really feels like the end and all cause of that stupid i-fone..

@rainai
I understand your disappointment, but you must understand that this is a mid-range, middle of the range priced, really just average Android phone. It is amazing we even get this much for such a low price. The only real Android alternative at the same price is the Tattoo and that is no option at all. I still think it is better than other phones at the price and will not be buying the 5800XM instead. I will go with the Spica.
