16 April 2010
If you’ve seen the Google Nexus One, you’ve seen the HTC Desire. End of story. We liked the Nexus One so be our guest, HTC Desire. But is it all that simple? HTC are so good they build phones for the competition. HTC are so mean they have no issues competing...

Soon you can root desire and install apps on SD card..That is not big problem and i think htc will find a solution and bring to us via next update.

Think about it. There in NO SUCH THING as a phone that does it all brilliantly. X10 is for me.
                Peace out

Let´s see... 1Ghz processor,576 RAM, 512 ROM (this means that you can install a lot of good apps and the phone will run smoothly) but only 120 megas available for apps !??!? WTF !?!? Is like having a Ferrari and only 1 liter of gasoline. So sad...

Another Android phone. I'm seeing a pattern here.

Symbian 3 and Windows 7 are going to have to be something special

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2010LOL!! you cant be serious...I have the Desire and compared ... moreThanks, I have spent two hours in store today in order to compare 2 phones. Yes AMOLED is better than, but if you turn on the auto light level. Both screen are similar. The HTC sense is really nice etc. I almost decided to by the Desire. Just wondering about the camera quality. This is my high priority. Now I knew Desire's camera is not good for my. In addition, the Desire price and X10 price are the same. in the Telenor store. So I am going to order X10 instead.

minh, 16 Apr 2010Thank you very much for your review. It make me easy to dec... moreLOL!! you cant be serious...I have the Desire and compared it to the X10 in stores. Only thing better is the camera and possibly app storage(if it can store more than 120Mb)...and that's it! No AMOLED screen makes it look dull. It has outdated software Android 1.6 and still is not able to run smoothly, its quite jittery still. It looks squarish face on and no way as sleek as the desire. I am so glad the X10 was delayed as I was looking to get that instead. X10 HAS NO MULTITOUCH!! and never will do due to hardware contraints. These are just things off the top of my head...so forgive me if ive missed anything.

Get the X10 if you desire but in my opinion you are making a mistake. If anything the N1 is an alternative.

Got this phone on the launch day...was waiting for this for a while. Love it!! Considering the app storage is 120Mb I have still downloaded quite a lot of apps.

a real shame aboot the internal storage :(
camera 'could' have been better but then it can ALWAYS be better on a mobile.

there is not really a lot of negative with the desire.
                                  great and thorough review.
personally i will wait until may to pull the trigger on this one but its a 90% done deal so far!

about the internal storage limit - you can somekind bypass this when you download the .apk files from the net and put these on your SD card and then use for example Astro file manager to install them manually, that way you will have always the most used apps on your SD card (tho not installed)... but yet still the 100mb for apps is a very hard limit and frustrating, cause i have to uninstall everytime an app just to install another one :(

Camera is the worst for this phone. It looks like it has no colors. Video recording at 15fps is just ugly. 120mb for internal is so not enough since apps are installed only to internal memory. Battery life is so short. Battery is like one of the most important thing ever. I expected much more.
