LG GD880 Mini review: Going minimalist

28 April 2010
The LG GD880 Mini is a looker. Quite the way to start really, but the Mini isn’t all about looks. From the hardware design through the high-res screen to the software – everything was crafted by skillful hands. Beauty is function in design – nothing is more complex than it needs to be, but beneath the deceptive simplicity there’s a myriad of functions...

It's dlerveied by your carrier, NOT Samsung, so instead of whinging about Samsung not updating, get onto your service provider Btw, I haven't had any problems with mine (aside from the GPS lock) however I recently flashed it with Darky's Rom (very easy process) and now even that is fixed! (and its ALOT faster)Excited to see what the S2 can offer

Why can't I record with the camera for more than 1 minute, despite having a 2GB memory card?
The memory for the camera recording is set to be saved on the memory card.

I saw this phone here and in hardware shop looks in same way, but on phone arena site there is review about the same phone and there is a pictures where this phone has a two slide doors - one for the SD memory card and another for the usb! And I am in doubt is there another version of this phone?

Great phone. my first LG and have been using it for over a month. i am surprised at the comments on 'crappy software', 'lags' etc. because i can't find a single issue either with the touch screen or with the os. the qwerty keypad is very responsive. microsoft exchange mail is the added plus. good work LG.

Great design, the phone itself looks amazing. However the OS is rubbish. Quite slow and laggy when scrolling through any menu page. SMS landscape touch keyboard is just as unresponsive. Good start but LG really need to upgrade the firmware (doubt that will happen). Better off with and android phone.

I guess the old external antenna would be possible if this was implemented.

Why does it have metal parts on the back in the 3D view? It looks much nicer this way.
Great phone anyway. I'll get one now to fill the gap until something similiarly shaped with Android comes up.

this phone is damn sexy, it would've kicked with android, bada, or windows7 as its os. almost perfect.
