Firmware of this phone is location dependent. That is, some phones have flash or taskmanager native multitasking etc.. But some doesn't. I am from India and my firmware doesn't have a dedicated back touch button, No taskmanager on long middle-keypress(Multi tasking only for java apps), and Youtube not playing inside browser.
So you should also check whether your device has it. You can go to youtube and at the bottom there is a link where you can customize your youtube and it asks some questions like whether your device supports flashlite etc..(In that page it showed a black screen with a youtube logo, may be it is flash, I think..)
Also I read, Samsung doesn't often release firmware upgrades for Indian devices.. But on weekly basis for European..
So if you can, CHECK ALL THINGS before you buy a device from Samsung.
May be Samsung Wave didn't have this type of problems because I think it is more like an OS(Actually Wave's OS is linux and Bada is a developer platform). Anyway we can hope..

I've read in some other reviews that this phone has multitasking.
This one..

can anyone tell me how to access messages while downloading mode is still going on? it seems that whenever i download stuffs on the net and a message comes up, i usually check it but i need to exit the browser..and when i go back..my downloads are gone in the download list..is there a way to check messages without even cancelling the downloads? or there's no other way?

I bought this mobile a week back.. Wi-Fi, GPS, Edge, internal applications are very good.
Touch sensitivity is also good.
For high messaging use, QWERTY keypad is not available.
Music rocks as Samsung is providing ear phones similar to SOny ericson Walk-man series. Mega bass really rocks. I never thot that Samsung can provide such a lovely music.
Battey life really improved as u can easily get it for 2 days
cam lacks flash, but still it is way better than competetors in that price scale.. lovely phone and i am sure u wont repent after buying it

i bought this monte 3 days ago . and i found this phone was quite amazing for a phone that costs under 200 US$
However, i was a bit disappointed when i found that monte didn’t have virtual QWERTY keyboard.
is there any update for its software so then i can get the QWERTY ?
