Samsung I9000 Galaxy S vs. Apple iPhone 4: Collision course

06 August 2010
It’s not like you’re out of options. Here’s one. Another one would be to get a friend’s iPhone 4 and another friend’s Galaxy S, put them on a table, close your eyes and… tell your friends to bugger off. Or you can do it the old-fashioned way. Flip a what...

Here you can check for yourself which camera takes the most accurate shots, and the SGS isn't even using scene modes in that one : tinyurl.c0m/37wphgy

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2010Do u want me to repeat myself? You go read the individual r... moreMy point is, the sgs camera outperforms the iphone 4 one whenever you use the appropriate scene settings, pretty much like on any digital camera dedicated to photo. If you still don't believe me just go check the ip4 vs sgs camera review. Even in the electricpig HD camera review the galaxy S wins over the iphone4.

Facepalm at you guys, I bet all of you have no clue about what makes a good photography and just go "HOOOO I JUST PRESS ONE BUTTON AND CHECK WHICH CAMERA RENDERS THE MOST CANDY LIKE AND SHARP IMAGE DESPITE OF THE FOCOS POINT DERPDERP". Just accept the iphone 4 pictures just seem to look better for the average joe because their colors are oversaturated, but from a photograph's point of view the sgs renders way better shots, less grain, sharper, and right on spot with the colors if you take 2 seconds to choose the right scene mode before shooting.
One thing I hated on my brother's iphone 4 was the simple fact that he couldn't take a picture of me standing in front of a white board with the flash, the picture would just come out all blue and washed out, good job automatic scene settings yey ?

PS: the galaxy S doesn't need a led flash with 30 cm light dispersion because of it's night picture scene mode. The only + of the iphone 4 is the native HDR mode, but theres an app for that on android, just like there is no panorama native mod on ip4.

howwww does the galaxy S score 7 compared to the ip4s 6 in the camera section when in the individual reviews the Gal S is quoted as a 'mixed bag' being pretty average.. and the ip4 as you can read for yourself is quoted as ' top notch' and one of the best 5mp snappers out there???
            makes absolutely no sense.

You post such a superb indepth report like this yet you don't take the extra time to spell check/ or correct grammatical errors.
                          Pretty poor.

Other wise excellent review. I'll go buy a Galaxy s =) (with frodo or whatever it was called)

I had Samsung Galaxy for 4 days and "took that thing back where it came from". I had significant reception problems such as zero reception in my office and nearly zero in my house. The design and materials of the phone are cheap. The software needs improvement. I had significant issues with the Kies s/w which does not work. Many people seem to like over-saturated colors produced by "super OLED". I have found the color gamut unnatural and I am interested to see what will be posted in about 1 year from now when OLED displays will turn yellowish (as they usually do) due to faster degradation of the blue pixels. I have not had any reception problems with my other phones and my wife has been very happy with her iPhone3G. I was very skeptical getting iPhone4 but I love it from the day one. I have no any reception problems in all areas of my activities. The design is perfect and it feels like a luxury item (as an expensive phone should). I love the software, the apps and I have no problems using an "integrated solution by Apple" as long as it suites my needs. iTunes works while Kies does not, GPS is perfect on iPhone while it does not work on Galaxy; the IPS display is great and reliable while OLED is an emerging technology. I am just a regular guy and I like what works for me out of the box. For me this is an iPhone4.

Some apps in android are multitasked (its the developper's choice), it means they can run in background (like a wifi sync app for example or mail app). But most of apps like games will go in an iddle state if you go out of them.

Does this phone have true multitasking like symbian?? If it does, then why do we still need to use a task killer?? I mean,we can cancel any program thats running by holding the menu key,why do I need to go to settings and then select close all running apps, can't we do it from the multitasking task bar....guys please explain me. I am a user of symbian,so don't know much about Android phones. I really need true multitasking and good battery. Thanx and regards.
