I listen to lots of music so sound quality is therefore a major factor,and I also browse the net almost the entire day. So I need good battery backup. Apart from that I play few games and regular calls for about 2 hours and about 20 text messages daily.Can you suggest me a phone? I have some preferences. iPhone 4/ N8/ Galaxy S. Can you plz tell me which best suits my uses. Regards.
P.S- I have heard that battery backup is not so good in Galaxy S. Is it true?

I would have bought the i phone the build is very good the only thing that stopped me buying it is u cant send what u want by blutooth apples copyright rules and the battery life is shorter than the galaxy s

on the jailbreak note, GreenPois0n should be coming out very very soon ^^ - just be aware that there are a LOT of fake jailbreaks atm so make sure you wait for the official one for the iphone 4 if you decide to go that route.

Next year's iphone 5 will have a powervs 540, I bet my hand on it. Why is that ? Because samsung is the only one producing those ships, and they are going to use that ship for the next year in every single of their LEAD smartphones. Apple will always lag behind samsung for their gpus and cpus.
And 90 million pol sec is a top bar that leaves plenty to do for at least 2 years in the current mobile phone game industry. Games won't reach that requirement of power for at least a year if not more. Hence my comment about the iphone 5 being on par with the galaxy S GPU wise, the CPU will probably be a little higher clocked, obviously a 1,2 ghz hummingbird or so nothing to fap about.

If you want more style, you can just buy for example the casemate dark silver case for the galaxy S (it takes the phone nearly to the iphone 4 build quality).
If you want smooth apple like interface... Install galaxy S voodoo lagfix and voodoo color and launcher pro plus... Enjoy.
If you want total customizable ui and make your own icons use the widget desktop vizualizer. Also get switchpro widget and app categorize widget for iphone 4 like FOLDERS !! Big big minus to samsung for not having a native cool folders solution.
All of what I say above, doesn't require any root or flash. Just putting a file in the sd card and booting (for the voodoo fix) or going in the market.
If you're lazy about doing any of that (that would mean you are lazy to jailbreak your iphone too) buy an iphone 4 and sacrifice an obvious freedom.
Anyway I'd wait froyo 2.2 before switching to the iphone 4, who knows, people who tested it say it does wonders without any lagfix.

More polygons per second has never been a resolution measurement, it is just a measurement of what a GPU can calculate in a certain ammount of time.
90 Poly secs means TOTAL BUMP MAPPING and even maybe low grade BLOOM or HDR in games.
With a 90 poly sec gpu you can run at 30fps over 800*600 something like doom 3 for example.
With a 30 polysec gpu you can run at 30fps quake 800*600 quake3...
This is just an example to illustrate how a gpu that is more powerful can calculate better shadows, better hdr/bump mapping, better SFX, better physics, etc...
The iphone 4 fails in that aspect.
A 30 poly sec gpu can't render anything better than what has already been done on iphone 4 (need for speed shift or rage engine).

That why xda create laggy fix for it. In terms of support sgs win with free to multi access freedom. Free to bluetooth, wifi router, joining network, media files support, sharing content, flash drive and more. Ip4 just a selfish goner and depender of itunes. Buy a phone to be support, not supporting it. Built on ip4 fabulous but too fragile.

i have an iphone 4 atm, but i was tempted to get the samsung captivate.
the reasons i didnt are thus:
once a jailbreak comes for 4.1 (mine came with 4.0.2) ill take care of all my customization needs
ill have flash
the UI is still the smoothest among all the other phones out there, and personally, that makes the phone that much better when you use it.
i prefer the camera of the iphone over that of the android devices currently out
the main apps are on both platforms but both have something unique to offer, so really its a personal taste here.
jailbreaking opens up cydia's apps so more power to you in the end
also, from using both android and iOS, iphone 4 is just better for me, when i use it i dont have to worry about lag, or something slowing down, the battery life is great, and ill enjoy it even more once i jailbreak it, so hope i helped, and hopefully you will be able to find the right device for you:)

I have the galaxy S. Been using it for a month now, and its an awesome piece of tech. I chose the galaxy over over the apple after reading this article, and i made a pretty good decion. After using my wife's iphone 4 , im feeling doubtful about whether i want to keep my galaxy. The build quality is great, so are the looks. I dont mind spending the premium in switching phones, but will the switch be worth it??

There is no comparison between iPhone - the best touch experience ever - and others.
Why do you want to force my choice to have the "just fine" instead of having the best device.
I don't like the way of your comparison, its better to let the buyer decide which device to have according to his needs through displaying all features for each device, we are mature enough to decide which one to buy , not waiting for your propagandic comparison.
You should compare tech specs , features and prices. You should never advice buyers to accept your point of view based on accepting the "just fine".
Anyways, it is up to any one to like or dislike any cell phone, myself I prefer iPhone, for any one likes any thing else, good for him/her, its up to him, its ok, whats the big deal?

But it really made my day because the A4 soc includes a gpu chip capable of 30million polygons/s (powervr 535) while the SGS hummingbird has a powervr540 capable of 90million polygons/s.
Actually to tell the truth the ip4 is hindering the mobile video game progress in term of graphic power because for the moment most games are developped with a performance aim that is the 30 million/s of the ip4.
Too long didn't read : the SGS will be 3dwise as powerful as the next gen phones, including the iphone 5. So sheer power my arse.

There's no tests that can bench a android unit and a ios unit with the same standard scale please stop spouting nonsense.
Humminbird and A4 have the same flop capacities, the only thing making a difference is the OS architecture. On that iOs is indeed faster than android 2.1, but slower than 2.2 with it's revamped code.

Samsung is the largest Plasma/LCD/LED panel producer the world has ever seen. They dont just do other phones but all major TV & Screen brands are built by Samsung. Sony, TEAC, Panasonic, etc etc
We are all fully aware aswell that they built the hummingbird ecu... but every test has show the apple version is the better to have for sheer power
