I am disappointed with the UI.
I waited for N8 a long time and hoped that they will change the UI, but it is similar to Symbian 1. specially the very ugly main menu.
Though it is a very good phone for people who can stand this UI, I would prefer to buy and android phone or samsung wave.

im using the N8 now and it is fantastic !!!!!!! The piece of sh*t American websites want to destroy this piece of art ! Dont listen to them this thing is amazing and i did use everything out there and never felt so comfortable and attached to a phone as much as the n8 .. Who knows how American companies waht to destroy Nokia but they sure failed .. Lol losers now we know why ur scared of the n8. Im having fun and love this phone no matter what those websites say .. N8 has one good thing and it is still camera. 24fps vid looks dropped frame at night according to techradar

I've looked at 5 reviews and all show sluggish OS. Some praise for camera and built quality. Symbian is bad I mean really bad!! It is like winmo 6 and needs serious update like winmo7

1ghz processor android phones? They are so laggy. I had nexus one.its super laggy menu scrolling is not ok. Oh and touch responsiveness.it is better not to talk about that. Just recently i bought samsung galaxy.oh.the cover flow,menu ah.shit. My next phone+wil+be+n8. I hav+seen many reviews.fortunately found+no laggy with even 5 or more apps
Opened.
I dont want to be in a prision with an+iphone with all its iRestrictions.

I read all the review, Sad about the zoom bug in the video, But still something very interesting, and for everyone, try to double touch the screen to go all the way to the end far zoom level.
I'm sure this bug will be resolved, but the hardware might not be capable.
If not how it can to 3x but not to 2x, We'll know soon after I get the phone!

The fact that these operating systems you think so highly of are so CPU intensive and need large CPUs t function bears little relevance to this discussion. We'll talk again when you are complaining about battery time as a result of these power hungry processors.
Throw in the dedicate GPU on the N8 and it makes this discussion even less relevant.

I love it how all those who seem to hate Nokia have such an indepth understanding of the new symbain OS. How do you know it is bad? You can't base opinion on old Symbian as Nokia has updated it so you base your comments on what other anti Nokia comments you've seen. Symbian 3 has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and yes it may look like previous symbian OS but when you actually start to use it you can see the massive improvements.
If you don't like Nokia and don't want to actually see if the N8 is anygood but rather spout unfounded nonsense and the same old same old tired anti Nokia guff, just don't bother. I don't feel the need to seek out Android or iPhone reviews to air my views on them. Grow up

Clint, 06 Oct 2010You are referring to buying a new phone... something a Noki... moreOne thing nokia hid is n8 use same processor as n97 which is a year old and can be also found on 5230. You pay most of its cost to camera. It has good camera but I can live with my iphone 4 camera which has better vid recording quality

Symbian is on its last legs. Nokia had the chance. They had seen what Apple and Samsung achieved, AND YET they did not brush up the basics like browser and UI. What guarantees their promised OS to be better than the competition? Nokia just sat there and hoped the specs would do the trick.. Sorry Nokia, I have been an ardent fan since the N82, but this just doesn't cut it.. Nokia's lost it! :(
