Don't get me wrong, iPhone is good, but not complete features, I really need the OTG as I can free up my memory card on the way, also another thing it's possible to have a software to control the camera through it's USB.i
Anyways have it's own POF, but for one reason I will never get iPhone because of reception issue.

The only negative I have heard about the N8 thus far is the "slow" interface and "complex" menu system. If that is honestly the best that people can come up with then this is indeed the phone for me!

I think it's unfair to compare this phone to iphone or the best droid phones, i realised it's not trying to compete with them in majority of the markets after i looked at the unlocked price of this phone..I think it's a case of unfair expectation that people have from Nokia, I remember same thing happened when 5800XM had got launched people started comparing it to the iphone, well it was never as good the iphone, but it was a lot cheaper..
Nokia knows their touch UI is not up to the mark of Android and they are buying time in 2010 before they launch their Meego device in 2011..the N8 is a pretty solid phone, and many people out there who cannot afford (talking about non-US markets, I am from India) the iphone or the Galaxy or the Desire this is a good alternative..maybe not as polished UI as android or ios, but pretty good as a standalone phone anyway

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2010n8 won;t get sale numbers by iph4 and galaxy s
http://www.... moreWell the rumors are the N8 pre orders were close to 5 million. 5 MILLION. I think it is going to sell well. Besides the article you link to does not talk about the N8 but about the SGS I have no flash device and the iPhone 4 Antennagate/Glassgate/Proximitygate device.
Besides, Nokia is also going to sell the C7 etc, and I think the C7 is a better match for the SGS. :)

[deleted post]You are right, Android is not only eye candy. It is also very poor battery life, non native apps and apps that send your private data to google and others. You were right and I forgot, it sucks on more levels than 1.

-can you l... moreYou do realize that the big name racing titles out for the N8 run better on the N8/E7/C7/C6-01 than the large majority of all Android devices? In gaming S^3 is going to destroy Android, literally.
And it does that with that "terribly oldfashioned processor" everybody seems to nag about. Funny is it not? :)

-can you lock individual apps like in Android with app locker?
-Can you add on the desktop how many widgets you want?
You say the games on Android market are not relevant to the "advanced" user, but that is what sells.
On Ovi store there are no playable games."
Have you ever heard of AppLocker and Advanced Phone Lock on Symbian? Apparently not. I use one on my N82 and am able to lock individual apps. A password is required to access them.
As far as I am aware you can add six widgets to each home screen with three home screens in total (I stand to be corrected, it could be more). That alone is 18 widgets. Do you really need more?!?! If you do, the app widget allows four individual apps added to it. Do the math. I really don't get why people need so many home screens. They complain about the "complex" menu system on Symbian but I can't see how it is more complex than having to sift through seven home screens to find what you want!
Not everyone wants a smart phone for games anyway... but even if they did there are plenty games available for Symbian. If you really want more then surely a standalone game console would suit your needs better?
