The windows mobile operating system is a mobile operating system that was designed by Microsoft for use in mobile devices, particularly smart phones.Nevertheless it is still a great mobile OS which is enjoyed by many persons and advancements in the technology and version of the windows mobile OS makes it a great choice for a mobile operating system.

Im thinking of getting a windows phone as my next phone in about 2 months.
Currently I'm leaning towards the Samsung Omnia 7 but I was wondering what you guys think?
Are there other WP7 Phones that I should consider, if so what ones?
        Thanks in advance.

Microsoft ruin its old traditions by such a scrap-phone functionalities.
This is not expected. I think WM6.1 is better then this scrap wm7

I hate it... they left MS kinda open phone for a close iphone for dummies. why so many storage space if you can't use it as a usb memory? don't waste your time with this new OS.

listen whoever says windows phone 7 is a bad OS is completely wrong sure it doesn't have tethering support or bluetooth transfers flash support and copy/paste but it WILL improve and by the way memory cards are supported, it all depend on the manufacturer not the OS, seriously people try comparing WP7 with other OS's most of you will say other OS's is better but it all depends on the customer so don't go telling everyone windows phone 7 is garbage because it's really not your choice.

Wp7 is great, it connects with my mac fine, the Market place is great, the UI is so Mutch more imaginative than android and iOS (which are exactly the same). And it's brand new so it dosnt have copy paste- it took apple 4 years. No java- apple still dosnt. Wp7 is amazing and very smooth

i want an OS that's not out-dated symbian, not fragmented and childish looking android (all UIs), not boring looking wp7, not 3.5" iOS because it's too small for my fingers to type with quickly and accurately, not bbOS because many features are locked without contract, not bada because samsungs are gay.. can't anyone make a decent OS to suit my needs! at least give me a 4" iphone! how long am i going to have to wait!

What kind of moron brings out a product with less funcionality than their previous devices? Most of the key functionality of Windows Mobile is missing, so you now have a flashy front end that runs quicker but a lot of the features that you rely on are missing? NO OUTLOOK Sync, hello? Every other phone in the market does this and you dont even sync with your own product???? No Tethering or Mass Storage Mode?? No Copy Paste?

All we wanted was a device that WORKED and had better integration. Not something stripped down and forcing you to use services that you dont need or want. No Wonder the Iphone has a stranglehold on the market - on it everything just works. Forget the App mentality, this is just the core functionality of the device. It is even easier to connect to Microsoft's own Exchange system than W7P...

                          Overall very disapointed.

Yup, I believe in Microsoft, so I'm betting that:

                              1. WP7 will randomly freeze and reboot
                              2. IE will be sluggish and hang all the time
                              3. Both will sport security holes that allow potential attackers to take full control of your mobile and execute random code
                              4. Patch Tuesdays will be feature weekly critical patches that address security holes that allow potential attackers to take full control of your mobile and execute random code
                              5. WP7 will become better after one of the xda developers roots or cooks up a usable version

Minimum system requirements means you a need a lot of money to buy the phone. Or should i say, to spend your money with just a phone.

WM7 was based on microsoft existing prodct, zune..
                                  which kinda disappointing though.
In my point of view, they should create an OS. I know it will be hard for them but look at the android, .

nice, but does it have minimum system requirements?
cant i flash it onto my iPhone or Series60 5th edition nokia?????
                                      memory card vital too!!
nice try, jus hope it dont turn out like windows vista....
...but then, they'll be forced to make a windows7, which will adress these shortcomings.!!!! :) cheers evryone!

I'm a little confused, can I or can I not synchronise Outlook contacts and appointments with Windows Phone 7 devices using USB? This is critical for me to know before buying a new device. Can someone please clarify the method for synchronising Outlook with the new windows device?
