Tell me, is it true WP7 'people hub' provides no support for LinkedIn? is it true WP7 does not support synchronising Outlook Contacts & Calendar via USB? is it true I can only sync documents via SharePoint with a large Telco Dataplan? is it true WP7 does not support card slot? is it true WP7 does not support Tethering? is it true I can't use USB to copy documents & files to WP7 device? unless I install ZUNE. And again is it true ZUNE does not support synchronising Outlook Contacts & Canlendar, If so it presents a problem synchronising CRM data for the sales team. It will mean MS will miss out on a large sale with an SME client. And it will mean it will be another two to three years before updating our smartphones again.

i very like the windows 7 phone y have PDAs and Smarthphones a long time ago y now this a very good change y like the new sistem of app and the new look im just waiting for the HTC 7 surround in my contry for buy it :D

I have to say I feel companies are focusing to much on this and not enough on everything else. Maybe I just feel this way because I'm not 16. They've definily discluded their business users with this release which is unfortunate.

Microsoft, go back to your drawings board. fire some of your staff. recruit creative youngsters. cos all your recent products lake common sense. common, this is a mobile phone, who would use xbox live? how many networks would charge users for going live? and what is this zune shit, even your media player sucks. that phone's powerful hardware specs is used only for the stupid eye candy animations.

This reminds me of the iOS back in 2007, lol. If they add copy/paste to it, I might give it a try, but w/out copy/paste? Forget it. I do a lot of copying and pasting of emails, websites, sms, etc. Copy/paste is a must for me.

I just don't understand why they persist with that god-awful zune. It is possibly the worst garbage ever. When they changed the player on the 360 to zune suddenly it took twice as long to play the things one wanted. Seriously, I really wanted this to be something good, but zune is a definite dealbreaker.

Question: Is there any network signal simbol on these phone as ios android and all the other OS have? because i cant see them in the reviews Thanks

true this is a pr/con comparision but the cons are basic features that the phone is lacking....older windows phones ran better this this one will....windows is lacking very in this new software...symbian^3 is even better....android right now is still the best os....bad job on windows part

I dont think the tethering will be addressed. I also dont think for now the memory issue will be resolved fully. It is seen as a negative even with the iPhone that you cannot use a memory card but they insist you have enough memory or you buy the bigger memory version. OK fine for Apple as they make the product too. But WM7 has to rely on the manufacturers to make larger memory versions of their products. The HTC HD7 is only available as a 8gb or 16gb version I have 32gb in my HD2! Plus option to put other spare cards in if I want! The copy and paste is a dumb ommission which just shows how little they seem to have cared about how it actually works. Seem more bothered about the asthetics than functionality.
I just feel some of the issues are also designed into WM7 like tethering, memory card support and the need to use Zune for music. Not allowing manufacturers to add features or tweak the interface is good if the OS fully does all we need but it lacks features we have become used to and I do feel many will migrate to Apple and Android based products. This looks to be a bit of an own goal at the moment. But will see if they do put back some of the features into the OS later. But if I upgrade next month it will be at least 18 months to 2 years before I even think about going back to a Windows based phone and by then I may be a convert to what ever OS I have been using during that time.

Anyway, don't write-off Windows Phone 7 yet. Just have a longer memory, read older news, documents, papers, etc. Windows Phone series will remain on 2 platforms. THink of WP7 as the N series of Nokia. Top of the line hardware and software. WM6.5 is still earmarked as a corporate platform. Also, Microsoft has said it as such and the early ROM leaks have confirmed, that this version of WP7 we're seeing is actually based on the source code of the previous versions. It isn't a total rewrite. So my guess is, when 6.5 eventually converges to WP7, that version is like Windows 7 Ultimate. Fixes all the problem this version of WP7 has. Not trying to do a boycott of WP7, cause I'm not. I'm likely going to get a HTC Mozart to play around with. BUt if you're not keen with this version of WP7, then wait on. 2 or 3 service packs down the road and I think most of the software issues will be resolved. Tethering, copy and paste, multitasking, etc.

As a windows mobile user since 2004, I am really heart broken to see how far BACK windows has gone even after spending so many months to come up with WP7. I wasn't expecting miracles from WP7, but at least i was hoping for a stable OS with speed like iphone.
It looks like all the experience windows mobile gained since 2003 is wasted. i wonder how many would prefer Xbox live other then a File explorer, Multitasking, Copy/Past.
In my openion The path which iphone walked should not be copied by Microsoft since this is not their first smartphone.
I really hope microsoft would come up with fixes for there shortcoming soon, as my wm6.5 need to be changed.

I have a HTC HD2 at the moment and have looked forward to the WM7 phones but it seems a backward step in too many ways for me. Bluetooth car connection is great but I do use it for transfers too.
EQ is handy with headphones too. Some earphones can be too base heavy or have too much treble. As a music player I would see this as important.
Mass storage is the mode I use the most for music and movie transfers. Also having removable storage which can be swapped without a hard reset is important as I have several memory cards with music and movies.
Internet tethering.. OK not too important for some but I use my phone to tether when I go away on business or camping. It is slow but better than having to pay for a dongle when I use it to tether once every few months and not at all over winter.
Copy and paste it a simple thing we all want.. OK if they sort it out.. fine but with other issues I think I will be keeping my HD2 for a bit longer or may go over to an iPhone to as a 32gb version will adress music, movie and the EQ adjustment for the earphones. Even having copy and paste.. OK no bluetooth transfers still or flash for internet content and tethering may be a pain but it resolves some of the issues I see and it seems for many WM7 will be pushing more sales the way of Apple... I had hoped for more but it is lacking some of the features I want. Just got to decide if I keep my HD2 for a bit longer or give up and get the iPhone.... But at the moment I will not be looking at a WM7 phone...

Hmm, I've read the pros and the cons and I came to a question at once: weren't the earlier versions of windows mobile better than this one if this one lacks so much in features like multitasking, copy/pasting/video calling, etc? Come on, even Symbian has those, while I can say that Android is far above the level of Symbian. So where is Windows phone 7? To me it seems like just a piece of gloss. It might look good, but seems to lack in many things. I wonder if it's at least as quick and smooth as Android, cause if it's not than I don't know what it is good at...

Nothing Wong with the review. Its balanced objective and clearly expresses the Pros and Cons. If it didn't and introduced bias then yes it would have been a biased review. Better still, we all have the opportunity to express our point of views here.
How many reviews have you read since the release of WP7 information that are Not WP7 biased and how many of those actually allow you to have your say?
Not many from what I have seen. GSM Arena, keep up objective reviews!

Actually for once i think GSM Arena has done a balanced review i was shocked because to me it was the first time that i have seen that on this site. the whole point of a review is to point out the Pro and Cons which it did yes there is plenty of stuff that is missing but GSM told us that really i just dont understand peoples problem with this review.
If you think WP7 is scrap then just dont buy. i never understand why people get so upset over a phone

I knew everything about the WP7 so i skiped to the final words.... very well written....
i believe WP7 has taken the iphone path.... and it will start bringing out the features which effect the buyers decsion to buy a smartphone...
