08 October 2010
A modern smartphone OS needs to be balanced with excellent cloud services and draw on the cutting edge of software. The Windows Phone 7 OS is nothing like Win Mobile. The new UI is trendy, with a magazine look, and is incredibly...

    so after the introduction of WinMo 7 its clear that samsung BADA is the most complete os (out of the box)....Android most powerful awesome customization and number of apps.....iOS is most feature rich with the most number of apps.....
    AND winmo is like the combination of look of tomorrow with the features of HISTORY......So a big NO NO!!

              What an OS ..!!! I am sure that this time Ballmer is going to be sued by Microsoft.Look at the -Ve features.In my opinion Android is far better than this crappy things.I would say Microsoft please learn something form Market,listen to the demands of pupils.Android gonna rock in the next,thought WM7 will make a fair competition but falls again.

                      Main disadvantages:

                      * No system-wide file manager
                      * No videocalling
                      * Limited third-party apps
                      * No Bluetooth file transfers
                      * No USB mass storage mode
                      * No memory card support
                      * No multitasking
                      * No copy paste
                      * Too dependent on Zune software for computer file management and syncing
                      * No music player equalisers
                      * No Flash or Silverlight support in the web browser

                      is this serious?!!
                      a smartphone platform without these things?!!

                        It is quite the same as the Apple OS. No bluetooth, no USB storage, no memory card slot. How inconvenient. I really hope Symbian 3 or MeeGo will become very handy just like S60.

                          I always use WM (since Axin/Loox) because it was a REAL pocket PC.

                          It should be not a beautiful OS but I customize as I want, has a lot of features and a lot of apps.

                          Samsung and HTC has a very nice modifications and we do not need a stylus anymore.

                          And what happens now? MS change the most completed OS to a teenages' OS.

                          I never think iPhone could be a better pocketPC than WM. But with WM7, iOS offer too much more multimedia, office and apps than this new one.

                          And what more MS want to do with this "wonderful" OS? Put it on a tablet and contend with iPad?

                                      As a user of the iPaq with Win Pocket PC thru to WinMo6.5 holding out for light at the end of the tunnel with WinPh7, this is an utter disaster of an offering. All we got at the end of the tunnel was a train smash!

                                      * 3rd Party hardware manuacturers prohibited from providing their own Sense UI.
                                      * No system-wide file manager

                                      * No DivX/XviD video support

                                      Who are MS catering for, with all due respect, pre baby boomer generation? A 10 yo kid has higher technology and usability requirements than WinPh 7 offers.

                                      This is like offering someone an option to walk when the rest of the competitors are moving at warp speed.

                                      The Mobile ph is becoming a ubiquitous device...Ph, FM Radio, DAB+?, Mpx Player, GPS unit, Modem. Micro PC with apps, personal entertainment unit, Camera with HD movie requirements and the like.
                                      Hardware wise, HTC HD3 (and I am a HTC fan) that is a de-featured HD2 - no removable uSDRAM etc. GSMarena are just too polite in their review here.

                                      Microsoft needed to establish a leadership position with features to beat iOS, Sym,and Anrd, but instead they have only reached the fringes of what its competitors are offering and worse still are behind the current times in user requirements and even behind WinMo6.5 offering.

                                      Microsoft original business strategy was get users hooked to office apps in the corporate environment and that would lead to business in the home environment. That worked in the 1980s – 2005, not anymore.
                                      Microsoft you failed to realize that decisions are now made in corporations taking into account employee technology profiles.

                                      Gone are the days where we provide to our employees and they follow. These are the days of leveraging what our employees have adopted and up on the learning curve. This is a new time and a new generation for all ages.

                                      At this rate, Microsoft will soon be exiting the Mobile OS marketplace. Microsoft, unless you come out with some earth shattering features on release day, you can say goodbye to your Mobile Phone OS business and with the loss of this business, you will start to lose your market share in the corporate environment.

                                      Those of us power and corporate users that were holding out will now churn our handsets in favor of Android devices and now here comes the avalanche, if my mobile OS is android, Pad will be the Samsung Galaxy S and now we have a compelling reason to migrate to Google Docs/Apps.

                                      Samsung & Google needs to move to the next stage and leap frog the entire market with a superior hardware and OS offering and a suite that complements the Galaxy S Pad and an updated Galaxy S mobile.

                                      Microsoft, thank you for introducing the Smart Phone devices… RIP MicroSoft...Bill you need to come back from the dead

                                        [deleted post]Yesss. Every OS needs to follow Ios to be successful. Android and Bada did this. I am iphone 4 user and I hate Nokia since 5800 and N97. Symbian is Worst OS ever after window mobile 6.5
