That's not the only way it tells you how many messages you have - just a cute little feature for when you don't want to look at the phone right then.
I really like the "spin-to-shuffle" idea. You'd need BT headphones though :--]

this can not be compared to x10 mini pro or vivaz pro considering prices i can find now x10 mini pro below 200 euros

it knocks indicating message counter????? What happened to a voice indication? I would much rather hear a digital voice say twenty two messages... rather than sit there listening and HAVING TO COUNT the knocks twenty two times..... time consuming, and ridiculous. that one feature is a fail.

I love Nokia but I've never seen anything this hideous in my life. It's the most ugly phone I've seen in my life (keep in mind that I don't take into consideration phones that appeared 10years ago, because they've might be outdated now, but at that time they were cool).
Seriously Nokia, if you keep it like this you're going to get bankrupt.
I loved all your products, all my phones were nokia, I even had the N900, but I'm starting to have the feeling you don't know anymore how to make a phone, and you're struggling to make phones. You're making as much phones as possible just to be in the lead, but at the same time you're loosing time and money which you could invest in a good phone which could push you back in the High-end market. N900 was an awesome phone, but you've decided to ignore it. N8 is an awesome phone, but you've ruined it with Simbian.
You can still make low and mid range smart phones, which are perfect for my dad which doesn't need apps. But please, when you make a product make it right or listen to your users feedback (not like you did with N900).

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2010Lol what so great about N8 hardware that this is approachin... morefor your information, even the android OS (known as resource hog) on Archos 101 tablet which is a 10.1" screen has only 256mb of RAM and it's silky smooth. The point is mobility applications doesn't need more RAM (battery life IS the important factor here), in desktop PCs it's another story.

no smart dialing? sucks... It is no problem if phone has no latest media functions, but smart dialing it's very important using phone as phone.
I will never buy such phone..

as the various form factors are being utilised by different companies, it is good to see this kinda shape which offers lots of functionality with nice processor speed. The only grouse is the fixed focus cameras that Nokia has started bringing to its portfolio.

When people first saw this mobile they thought it was nothing spectactualar,but reading this review shows that its a good little mobile from Nokia,looks like a nice little phone to put in your pockets instead of large touchscreen mobiles,will keep an eye on this mobile an price an might buy this as my spare mobile after getting the n8

Same old specs..
what does 'X' could do with this,when theres same specs like 'E','C',and'N' series.. Their just using those letter,but AGAIN with same feature and specs..
