Sony Ericsson Yendo review: A touch of Walkman

21 December 2010
It looks like the XPERIA X10 mini but acts like what it is – a full-touch feature phone. This is obviously nothing really to shout about as there are hundreds of them around now. It’s a first for Sony Ericsson but that’s not what makes it special...

It's said in the review that Yendo is SE's first full touch Walkman phone. What about SE Satio? Even it has a Walkman feature in it.

            disapointing.
after it's delayed too long came with 'walkman' branding but doesnt come with mega bass fiture and customable equalizer. what's a walkman player wihtout that?! all we need from a walkman is music and sound pleasure, not others. not better enough than W205 whichis also hasn't equalizer and mega bass. even in same range, compares with W200 that came with total music dedication even less in others. cause it is a walkman, it should be more than a phone with 'just' a music player.

Not a proper review., 23 Dec 2010 This has happened before. One is not going to be checking... moreYou are right about everything except for the video sample.

This phone records in QCIF (176x144). GSMARENA decided not to publish video samples with such a low resolutioin a couple of years ago already.

I think this preview is not suitable to be a review. we need complete unboxing video, audio quality test, and a lot more feature comparison. oh yeah, and GSMArena, don't forget that us, readers still waiting for acer stream's and samsung wave's 723 final retail products audio quality test

This has happened before. One is not going to be checking constantly to find out when is the review complete.
If there's no audio test, nor video samples, this should not be called a review but a PREVIEW.

When it's complete, tag it THEN as "review" so the readers will know that the missing info is there.

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2010Yep, Meego. When it's out, Apple, Google, Samsung, and LG a... moreI'm with Nokia all the way, but this won't help the consumer, we don't want ONE company to lead we want competition for decreased prices and better products with more features and more innovations.

remember when Nokia maps (Ovi maps now) was a payable service? now it's free, remember the high prices for even mid-range Nokia phones? now you get N8 (which is the highest in its class) at just 500~ dollars, while the N95 8GB was around 700~ on its release day, competition made difference thanks for google.

One thing for sure, Meego come too late.

When it's out, Apple, Google, Samsung, and LG are all going to go the way of Siemens Mobile, and HTC and Blackberry will be going out of the mobile game for good. Everything is just going to be Meego. And Nokia. Tool.

Great stuff. A touch phone without a virtual keyboard. I might be wrong but I thought texting is the second most important function of all phones. Rather get the proper Android experience from similarly priced phones from ZTE, Alcatel etc. And GSM, please do a review of an Android phone from ZTE, I beg of you!!!
