If you're an Android App developer.... Would you program for the TWO dual core platforms? OR the 50 bajillion 1ghz phones?
I think I would rather sell to the mass market. Like the review says, dual core phones is an investment for the future... but i'd rather wait for the next gen dual core when Google's official phone has it!

To tell u the truth, know body needs dual core mobiles, it's just over kill, I would rather a better design like xperia arc ie, which is way better than these boring rectangular bricks that htc, apple and now lg are doing. Seriously how many of these same designs and 4 touch buttons at the bottom do we see

Android is natively multi-core cable, you can see that by looking a the Pi results. As with windows the application has to be programmed to be multi-thread.
The second area is the file system. Most older handsets use YAFF with is single threaded in so far as each write is a file system wide lock. Nexus S with Gingerbread uses EXT4, which I guess will be the same for Honeycomb.
3.0 adds multi-thread support for native apps like the browser and launcher.
The real important question with all Tegra 2 systems is, what is the battery life like. We know that the Tegra 2 can't gate off the second un-used core like, meaning the standby battery drain might be quite bad, as witnessed in the Moto Atrix spec on this very site.

fresH, 02 Feb 2011htc design copy! How can it be a design copy? How else are you mean to design a touch screen phone?
They are ALL going to be roughly the same size.
They are ALL going to have a large touch acreen.
Do you see?

sensitiveness of screen in this Lg is weak. They should resign from two core processor on favor of better screen! But marketing is wining again. Now kids have another tool and prove that android is better than symbian! :) LOL

testing it with neocore isn't wise, the sgs is capped at 56fps, meaning they could be just as powerful, try nenamark1 next time, way more demanding! ;)

Haha...!!!
check this :p
Having seen all these numbers, you probably expect to hear that the LG Optimus 2X is much faster than the current crop of Android smartphones in each and every task, but we are afraid we will have to disappoint you here

Still @ the moment that capture us the stock design and performance goes to Sony Ericsson Arc. Offering high end hardware and first to have issn't that great. All we want to not only good hardware most important is the interface and if it running smooth for us. AND IT CAN BE THE BEST FOR US.

So far what I have bee reading that this is only good if you want a gaming device...I am thinking of upgrading from my HTC Desire to this, but now I am not so sure...I love playing games but it's not my main focus...So is this better then today's powerfull 1GHz devices (Desire HD and Galaxy S)? (not looking at the benchmarking,we know what it can do...)

"Android 2.3 Gingerbread is hardly any different so until 3.0 Honeycomb updates start hitting dual-core smartphones (if at all), those won’t be living up to their full potential."
I guess, even if they release honeycomb next month its still wont be able to utilize the utmost performance of the dual core.
I better wait when android can fully utilize it.
Perhaps there will be much better looking phones by then. This design is kinda boring.
I mean let's face it- most people buy new phones for the performance-specs and design too. Its a package.

While the Geforce has plenty of marketing power due to nVidia's reputation in the PC field, apparently the Mali-400 and PowerVR 543 on the upcoming Samsung Orion and Qualcomm/Apple A5 is superior to it.
