Raj, 29 Jul 2011Hm, is SGX540 really better then the Adreno 205 though? I s... more205's performance is actually exaggerated, especially Neocore that based on OPEN GL ES1.1 by Quaclomm.
In Nenamark2 the original Galaxy S(SGX540) is about 23-25 fps,the mark can fight with Geforce ULV which used in dual-core Tegra 2,but Desire HD/Incredible S is only about 11-15 fps, almost equal to SGX530,only.
Also,the pixel fillrate of 540 in 200MHz is 1Gpixel/s,which 205 is only 245Mpixel/s.
Sorry for my bad,bad English.=]

They should use wp 7 mango. Android and IOS are getting outdated now..Moreover Android is a pretty cheap OS... So it would be better if samsung shifts of windows like nokia for a stiffer competetion..I think nokia had done a better move in switching

if samsung brings out GS2 with dual core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon chipset then it'll be awesome. hope they will bring out GS2 3D at Dec with this & with better GPU.

Hm, is SGX540 really better then the Adreno 205 though? I saw a comparison earlier this year, and the 205 won in most of the comparisons. If you Google it you will see what I am talking about.

We have to say that for browsing battery life, results of tests must be correctly interpreted. In this test, we know that brightness is set to 50% for all smartphones. But GS+ has 400 cd/m² brightness and for example LG Black has 750 cd/m² brightness. So if these two smartphones have had the same configured brightness, LG Black should have had MUCH better battery life in this test than GS+ (and better than much competitors).
In a test with this kind of setup, the less the phone has brightness, the more it is advantaged !
Despite the Mhz improvement, the GS+ remains an old phone.

>>The FM Radio on the Galaxy S Plus differs from the one on the original Galaxy S because it's outputs stereo sound, while the Galaxy S had a mono unit.
You are wrong. I9000 has stereo FM output since it was updated to 2.2 (Oct, 2010).
And concerning to I9000 benchmark scores: Quadrand shows ~900 marks on ancient 2.1 firmwares (you still haven't updated yet?) Latest 2.3.4 (JVQ) hits about ~1600-1700 points.

It's a stupid addition to an already similar performing phone. And this one is for the novices who cannot root or improve any android phone and would prefer the phone to be fast out-of-the-box straight away. These are the people who would keep their phones wrapped in layers of cover. A new (or rather an old)smartphone only for the dumb.
