Rab, 31 Oct 2011still unable to update my ipad. i always reach 60% to 65% ... moreyour internet connection need to be stable, connecting to a wifi is not a good idea, I've tried it before when I updated my Iphone4 to iOS5 and I just ended up frustrated as I have tried it 10x I guess.
Now I suggest you should get connected to a much stable internet connection e.g DSL,.as normal it took me 3-5hrs. of setting up but you will not be cut off,.i guarantee u that.^_^.

iOS 5 is really cool. Now cooler when I jailbroked it. Found a nice tutorial how to jailbreak iOS 5 here: http://www.phonesarchive.com/tutorials/how-to-jailbreak-ios5-with-redsn0w-099b4-version-tutorial.html

That is why I do not want to use any iphone, ipod. They are so restricted on what you want. They think that is the best solution for you and you have to follow what they have set to.

Only people will understand this kind of problem when they really have it.

some features just catch up to android 2.2. If iOS doesn't have a lot of apps and games more than android, and also these apps has good quality than android's. Then iOS would be no any good than android.

AnonD-1825, 12 Oct 2011•App folders still are limited to 12 apps tops There's g... moreThe folder limitation still makes little sense. If I have 30 games stored in folders, I still need to look in multiple folders if not found in the first one. My old iPod was jailbroken and used infinifolders to solve that problem. I was able to organize my iPod exactly the way I wanted. And scrolling within the folder was easier than going in and out of multiple folders looking for the app I wanted. I think it's fine if apple wants to keep 12 apps per folder as the default setting by at least give the consumer a choice.

Its working flawlessly on my 3GS. No lag at all....jailbreaking it and clocking the cpu to 800mhz would definitely speed things up. Hope some one comes with an untethered jailbreak

I feel that this update does not live up to the pre-release hype.
The major disappointments for me are iCloud, IMessage. This type crap is useless for me and are geared more for people who eat, breath and sleep iPhone, iPad, ect. I'm sorry but anyone who is turned on by this kind of nerd crap need to get a life,

The newsstand along with games center are nothing but useless clutter which take up screen space. Yes they can be moved to a folder on an empty page but what's the point they are still there. Apple should allow for user to decide what to have as far as apps are concerned and should not be forced to these useless apps.

The camera off the lock screen ? Is this for real? Clicking the home button twice (in my case 3 times) to get the camera icon to appear temporarily on the lock screen? Really? Call me stupid. but what's the point because in the time that it takes to click the home button 3 time I could simply unlock my phone and click the camera icon on the main screen. This update is completely stupid.

The only thing worth any mention in this update is notifications and even this feature has missed the mark by eons

The funny thing is this is all it takes to gather a bunch of tech junkies to wait in exaggerated lines I'm not surprised...how pathetic.

Updated my iPod 4th gen to iOS 5 and i don't really see much difference...

What i really hate is iTunes for Windows!!! To install the iOS i lost the entire music that i had in the device, but only because the stupid program (iTunes) does not allow to simple drag-and-drop the music files from the PC to the iPod and vice-versa.
To be able to keep my music (and apps) library intact i is needed to have the original files on the PC AND do the upgrade on the same PC and user account (win NT) that was used to put the musics on in the first place!!!
Since i already deleted that specific user profile i was not able to copy the contents of the ipod to the PC because stupid iTunes has a lot of limitations!!

my iph4 runs plenty fast but still its 18 months old

speed is relative. to when it was released and what is out at the time

for instance the iph4s is very fast

me, 15 Oct 2011your 3gs is slow well yeah its like a 2 and a half year old... more3GS is exactly that old, as its OS is. It was exactly that slow back then, when I bought it, as nowadays.

Iphone 4 is also slow, perhaps just a tick better than 3gs. I've been using it for a while and you can also see that on the video in the article here.

Disappointed that the 4s didn't go with an even punier size screen, say a nice even 3".
