Anonymous, 11 Nov 2011Don't you think something is fishy with this test when Noki... moreI honestly wouldn't want to go this far and claim they are not honest, but I would rather say yes something doesn't seem quite right here.
I have always found Nokia and SE to have top notch cameras, maybe competitors have overall better hardware but when it comes to cameras those two companies really have a lot of experience.
also some of you posted a review from mobile.review, are u kidding me? This is the #1 website promoting samsung and degrading other brands, so it's 100% subjective. Any tech reader would agree.
I know GS2 is a powerful machine but you guys need to trust me it's still behind the competition when it comes to it's camera. Even the iphone 4s although amazing, but it's not as good as the Arc.
What I loved about the Arc is that it produces natural and true colors! Something, I've been missing on iphones and galaxies because they try to make the color look nicer but not natural, see where I'm going here?
the n8 remains the king of cameras for a reason, and it's simple, it's the best phone that produces photos the way they really are! Not by making them look nicer or richer in color.
If any of you own both the Arc and GS2 try to take a photo in low light conditions and manually change the level of exposure on both phones, you will be shocked to notice that the difference is like day and night! In favor of the Arc of course.
Again the award winning exmor R technology provided by Sony makes wonders if you really know how to use it.

AnonD-1544, 11 Nov 2011Guys you need to believe me on this one, because it's based... moreDon't you think something is fishy with this test when Nokia N9 in fact has a strong Dual LED Flash but GSMarena writes that N9 perform badly with it's Single LED? Makes you wonder what phone where they were testing? Cause it sure as hell wasn't a Nokia N9.
It's not even a question of personal experience anymore, it's downright lying about the hardware capabilities of the Nokia N9.
Nokia should sue their ass for spreading lies about their phone.
I never before would think that GSMarena promotes iPhone and is sponsored by Apple in some way., but today i know they do.
I used to have alot of respect for GSMarena, but i will not tolerate them lying.

Apart from that, it's got a great camera!

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2011It's a pretty funny "result" on gsmarena consider... moreI find your comment even funnier considering I've just looked at the TIPA website & the N9 isn't mentioned anywhere.
In fact they dropped the best mobile imaging award for 2011 & the last phone to win it was the Nokia N86 in 2009
can you provide the evidence to show that TIPA bothered themselves with a comparison between the N9 & the IP4S?
In fact if you go onto TIPA.com & search their own website for either Nokia N9 or iPhone 4S, the results will be "no results found"

Guys you need to believe me on this one, because it's based on personal experience, and I promise you I know what I'm talking about.
I respect Gsmarena and this comparison is great. However, I tested both the GS2 and original Xperia Arc and the Arc is way better! I can't believe Gsmarena claims otherwise.
Samsung used to give me wrong colors, for example, the red turned to orange, the pink turned to purple, it was a mess. I'm not saying it's that bad I'm just saying the Arc was much better and produced more natural and correct colors.
And regarding taking pictures in low light the Arc surpassed the GS2 with a wide margin, mainly because of the amazing Exmor R sensor and it totally makes a huge difference. Besides, the noise on the GS2 was so much greater than the Arc in night.
The Arc didn't win the EISA European award for the best smart phone camera for nothing, let's use our head and think reasonably for a moment.
I truly felt The Arc should have been the winner or at least in 2nd place, however, placing it 3rd or 4th is just absurd and unacceptable.
Again, what I'm saying is based on experience and not loving a certain brand.
Thanks,

So glad I bought the iPhone 4S. Awesome camera, descent battery and best UI. I have left my SGS2 behind, and wont be going back to Android. Its so nerdy, the Apple is just so nice to use.. I went off it for a bit but the new apples have stolen my heart again! And I know it has the best camera from using it.

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2011It's a pretty funny "result" on gsmarena consider... moreYou are right... Even on the N9 photo on the article itself it's obvious that it's a dual-led flash.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that the 4S camera is one of the best 8Mp shooters out there, but GSMArena looks to be promoting it a bit... Not to mention that they even tried to justify the lack of option to change the picture and video resolution as the iPhone wants to be "perfect" and not simply that Apple thinks that all their users are dumb...

At the end of lets say 24 hours of voting, you reveal the photo identities. To make it more realistic and avoid any suspicion put encoded watermarks on the corders of the photos so after the voting is over and you reveal the encoded text cypher key..so anyone can see that no photo identities have been switched to fake the vote results.

Mmmmh in favor of N9 I can say that nobody has noted that its lens has a more wide range, therefore it tries to catch more image information in the same 8MP than any other. You can notice this simply watching the borders of the pictures that shows more of the scene than the others. I'm not expert but I think this lens was designed to perform a lot better in a greater sensor but they have skimped. Camcorder bugs may could by fixed through a software update.

It's a pretty funny "result" on gsmarena considering that TIPA (Technichal Image Press Association) the gurus of the imaging world wrote in their magazine that Nokia N9 Carl Zeiss Camera is far superior to Iphone 4S.
Either gsmarena didn't have good settings on the N9 in this test or this site are so biased to sell iPhones for Apple that they forgot respect their readers.
There are alot of dodgy stuff in this review against Nokia N9.
For example GSMarena wrote:
"The poor single-LED flash performance of the N9"
What??!! Are u serious GSMarena? Newsflash! Nokia N9 has Dual Led Flash!! that is amongst the strongest in the phone business today according to Mobile.se testing!!
At the same time they are this site is praising the poor single led flash of the iPhone 4S, who scored poorly in every other review online.
This was just an example of how dodgy this test was.
It is not only biased but downright lying about Nokis N9 specs.
Shame on you GSMarena!
And might i say i am HTC user and a HTC fan.

Eww.. seriously?
You can tell that the photos (and videos) on iPhone are being sharpened (with some sort of post-shot processing filter)
Just take any of those other phones photos and apply smart sharpening or any kind of sharpening filter with any image editor and you will get the same results as iPhone
Shame that it has not being mentioned anywhere on this review..

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2011You are comparing the Arc review with the Arc S?Yes. Because they're EXACTLY the same. Minus the overclocked 1.4-GHz processor.
