Samsung Galaxy W I8150 review: S Plus Lite

8 December 2011
The Galaxy S line gets all the attention, but troopers like the Samsung Galaxy W I8150 will see plenty of action too. With a 3.7" screen, it's more compact than the original Galaxy S, but it uses the same souped-up chipset that ticks inside...

@GSMArena: Good review. Can you please tell me if this phone is available in India (Bengaluru)? What is the cost (INR)?

The Galaxy S Plus that GSMArena is recommending has no camera flash, so in that respect Galaxy W is better.

If you want a better camera and truly excellent keyboard around the same price bracket then I'd recomment the Xperia Pro.

I dont understand what is your problem with the display, the contrast is quite clearly higher than the sensation so what is so bad about it? :S

And the reason why the black level is higher than others at 50% brightness is because...well..you know it happens to be the brightest at 50% brightness than other phones in the list. This is the same quality screen used in many higher end phones, 800:1 is a fairly standard contrast for LCD's and even the best ones dont do a noticeably better job at it. You even said the viewing angles and sunlight legibility are really good which is really what matters with LCD as black levels are similar on most.

Your disliking of the display is inconsistent with all your other reviews of 800:1 LCD's and really makes no sense.
