AnonD-38221, 15 Jan 2012um....no. Sony ericsson has the benchmark on mobile intergr... moreYou should do a better research because N8 wasn´t chose on that comparison. If you read the title it says: 8mpx shootout while N8 (BTW: a 2yr old phone) has a 12mpx camera and it's definitely better than any camera phone Sony Ericsson ever released. N9 was the camera phone invited to that last shootout 2 months ago and it didn't fare as well but it's definitely not the worst of the 8mpx photo shooters.
And I admit Sony Ericsson released some interesting camera phones 3-7 years ago (who doesn't remember that K750 with that great for-its-time 2mpx camera, the Xenon flash powered K800 or that megapixel monster 12mpx Satio??)I haven't forgotten such devices and I think they were great back on their times when Sony Ericsson had a respectable market and offered reliable, good looking and unique devices. But they just dropped the ball the last few years, lost their identity, got less reliable and became a generic manufacturer that lost its unique touch and also lots market share. Now Sony decided to ditch the Ericsson branding and I don't think that'll make miracles, but if they prove with more releases like these 2 new mobile phones, good pricing, above average reliability, good hardware and software (althoug most of that'd be Android's task) they can become a serious player again and recover or better yet, get some new clients. Hope Sony gets serious again to this division because they really need their support to stay in the game.

Under the Xperia S pictures (the white one), I see two pictures of the front, one with 'Sony' on it, and another with 'Sony Ericsson' on it.

Teo, 14 Jan 2012If the camera going to be same quality as Xpera Arc S, will... moreum....no. Sony ericsson has the benchmark on mobile intergrated cameras. Even the picture quality between the Sony Erisson Xperia 10 beats Nokia N8. The N8 holds huge flaws and if you think otherwise check the head to head battle they had on GSM between Nokia N8, LG P990, Iphone4, HTC Sensation and Samsung S2 about 3 months back. Yeah..Nokia came last even with the higher MP rating 8b

AnonD-21645, 13 Jan 2012Here are my responses;
You want to feel you actually upg... moreDude..you just asked me a simple question :P How are you going to fee the upgrade and I gave you a list of stuff lol
Uhh regarding most of the topic, I can tell you that the Arc's screen IS brighter than the one in the GS2, Sony surprised me with their S-LCD to be honest...
Playstation Certified - After all, I am a person who finished GTA with touch controls...but again, why would I use touch controls if I can connect my phone to a TV/Screen and use my PS3 controller? ;)
Uhhh, you do know Music Unlimited is a streaming music application for about 4$ per month? You know that Video unlimited gets the NEW blockbuster movies and mostly colombia pictures'(because it's owned by Sony)newest movies? It's similar to showtime for example(if you have it in your region) :)
S2 was no doubt one of the best smartphones in 2011...I just didn't like it; Design was horrible, Samsung somehow cheated me thinking Super AMOLED + is the brightest screen around, TouchWiz 4.0 made me feel I was using my Bada phone from 2009, screen kept setting itself automatically to a lower brightness level because the phone overheats...I also missed a the TimeScape, Facebook inside Xperia and the camera interface from my Arc. Yes, the S2 was faster and could handle things easier, but the sacrifice I made for that wasn't worth it at all...

RamyRamz69, 12 Jan 2012You want to feel you actually upgraded? Faster processor, b... moreHere are my responses;
You want to feel you actually upgraded? Faster processor, better and brighter screen, better camera, newer OS (Yes, 2.3.7 looks completely different than the crappy Touchwiz 4.0)
*** To be honest, I have an assortment of launchers, ranging from Launcher7 that I like to play with the SPB shell 3D to Go Launcher - so the OS doesn't matter. Whatever phone I go for next will have an HD screen - but I doubt any will be as bright as Sammy's (alas) and I would certainly hope that whatever phone I get is faster!
, Playstation certified device(That alone makes me want to get the phone),
***the problem with this is that on a device like this you're restricted to touch-controls, which are soooo hard to use effectively once the difficulty in games ramps up.. Sonic CD just released - are you really going to be able to pixel-perfect jump using touch controls?!?!
free movies and songs from SEN while purchasing, front facing camera with 720P, faster updates from Sony obviously(Samsung has not even set a date for when it's S2 is going to get an update), much much much better design,
***I have quite a collection of movies / songs already - and again most manufacturers front camera (when does ANYONE ever use these?) will be 720p... as for updates - Sammy (and I know I'm defending them here, but I'm not that much of a fan - I'm definitely not getting Sammy this year unless the design of GS3 is AMAZING) but Sammy's updates have been second to none on GS2 - SonyE's not so... but to be fair, again, not a major issue - the major issue is that out of the box it's still Gingerbread and not designed for ICS...
Facebook inside Xperia, Timescape, and the list can go on...
***I like the idea of FB inside Xperia actually...
I bet you won't tell the difference between a dual core 1.5 Ghz phone and a quadcore 1 Ghz phone...why? They will both run with flawlessness without any lag lol. It's not the hardware, it's the software and OEM stuff that mostly matter ;)
***Totally agree here - but I don't want to compromise on screen quality either...
Super AMOLED screen or not...both screens are amazing, and somehow the S-LCD is brighter :) I can guarantee you that you'll feel upgraded. I hate Samsung because somehow they convinced me that their Galaxy S2 is superior than any other android phone, and I stupidly bought it thinking it was better than my Arc...after 2 months I really wanted to return it and get an Arc S or HTC Sensation XE....
***The Galaxy S2 was definitely THE phone of 2011 - no doubt, shame you didn't like it... But like many, I'm bored of the design and want something a little different...
What I do like about Sony's new range is the compatibility and addition of the smartwatch and smart headset... now THEY look interesting... something a bit different...
HOWEVER
Give me an Xperia Play 2 and I'm sold!
