Ah Nokia, still showing the world how to do feature phones. Pity there's not a lot of money in 'em these days. I'm a nerd and a heavy smartphone user so this one isn't for me.
Still, there's a part of me that would like to go back to the simplicity of a keypad, QVGA and basic Java apps - and a battery that didn't need charging every day!

Very nice phone for its price except that it has no flash light and the Media player forward button is a heck for let's say an hour long sermon. If you want to go to the 45th minute, it will take you like 9 minutes to press and hold the >> button, which i'm not willing to do. They could have done it in a way to advance faster, the longer it's pressed. Or even better, the go-to option in the menu to go to a specific point.... cmon Nokia!!! I know you can do it ;)

The features on this thing makes me(Symbian^1 user) jealous. My 5233 has got 2MP camera and no FM transmitter.

One thing I wanted to add is - speed between S40 devices can vary.
My previous phone was a 2730, and I recently moved to a C2-01. I find that the C2-01 is noticably faster.

My ROKR E8 has been showing its age recently, leaving me little time to actually plan and save up for a "good" phone. So I spent a few days researching and decided the X2-02 was the "immediate" choice.
It's a grab-now phone, cheap, and gives you all the basic necessities. It goes head-to-head with the ROKR, except that the Motorola is a Linux phone and has some cool native apps. Don't expect that from S40. And expect some things to not work out like how you expected.
There is no setting to view only phone, SIM1 or SIM2 contacts; all of them show up - you might've expected this functionality to be "basic". And there's no "select multiple" capability for messages. Only delete all or individual messages. I've yet to get my hands dirty so I might've missed a couple more things (the phone's currently charging for the first time).
Bottomline: If you're a minimalist (you hate QWERTY, love slim, desire simplicity) in an urgent need of a phone that's cheaper than Microsoft Windows, the Nokia X2-02 is the perfect option as of March 2012.
P.S: All this time I thought my ROKR was slow. I find out now that it's faster than S40. Overall, give and take.

It's technically a Symbian v3.2 smartphone, but you don't have to install apps on it if you don't want to. It has the excellent Nokia 5 MP Carl Zeiss module with flash, slide keypad and no touch. It is no longer manufactured, but should be available in many places still.

In Indonesia apart from a BB, I also have a mobile that has 3 sim cards, 1XCDMA and 2xGSM, for no other reason to ensure at least a chance of coverage given the massive amount of users, and to also keep the call costs down by calling carrier to carrier. It works a dream and saves heaps on call costs. Nokia is on the right track. I just want to make and receive calls and not waste too much time stuffing around with any os.

Is it really important to review standard phone like this while we have so many advance phone to be rview but not yet reviewed. Nothing interesting from this phone only ordinary standar phone with poor fitures

Personally i'd sooner have a single sim, non touch screen, non smart phone slider type phone with a good camera and buttons, you know the type they have forgotten how to make and that some people are still crying out for, Instead we now get either touch screens phones with good cameras or button phones with cameras so poor it's like being back in the 1990's
