I'm surprised that at the end of your review you bring the Samsung tabs and Asus autobot as competing alternatives to the iPad. Most people who use or are interested in using good apps would probably prefer an iPad 1 from 2010 over the useless droid tablets.
You obviously don't understand the whole tablet market at all.
iPads are good at running ios apps in much the same way as MS windows is good at running windows software.
Android on the other hand has no software so it is only good at running its own OS. So in other words Android based Tablets are gadgets.
iPad market share is the proof of that.

Rival pad selections should mention the Toshiba (Excite) AT-200 which is now thinnest Tablet in the world at 7.7 mm thick because 'NEW' ipad got thicker than ipad 2
It is better than ipad 2 in every aspect so it worth a mention

Wonder how other manufacturers will deal with quad core hot boxes. There are iPad's galore every however I still have not come across a real need to have one. I already have 3 mobiles to cover my business travels and iPad or similar does not add any functionality or benefit to what I already have. The problem with all tablets is they all have software limitations what they can really do and even a good netbook can be cheaper and better.

The heat is way overblown. Many cellphones gets hotter. The new iPad is simply the best tablet out there by far. And to whomever say the resolution on the LCD screen is not much of an upgrade don't have a clue on what they're talking about. Lol!

The worst multitasking gestures i ever seen. Do people do that and the guy is struggling with it. made me laugh, good for apple fans and they can go and use it until it dies as it doesnt charge while using and heats up so much that they can cook eggs and sausages and eat while browsing. Why dont people get it the simple point Apple is making all fools. Most bloggers are so biased already because the heating problem in ipad is a big issue but they all are ignoring. The simple reason is the dual core processor and quad core graphics are working all times to give its best effort what happens when it fails. Because the life cycle depends also on the working of the components and if the components heat up so badly the life time is short if thats what apple wants. Its so disappointing product from apple. people looking at retina display which is not necessary in the first place rather than looking at the product itself.

No charging whilst in use? I'm charging mine right now as I'm typing this and percentage is still increasing while in use. I think they mean whilst playing hardcore games where power is drained faster than it is being charged.

I've read the review and it seems they've done some serious specs into this one. But specs don't make the deal completely...
For existing Apple users: Its a great machine, go for it if you feel you need it.
For Samsung/ Nokia/ other Android users: Apple products have their own restrictions which, if you don't get used to, will annoy you like hell... Avoid any applr product for long term if you hate such restrictions.
This is as unbiased as I can get... Personally, I hate Apple for their policies...
