HTC One X review: eXtra special

12 April 2012
How about this for a rebound after a rather quiet second half of last year. A massive change of game plan sees HTC focus on a special few products instead of trying to create a smartphone for every taste. An outstanding result of this effort...

A 3000mah battery like the Moto RAZR MAXX has would make wonders on this phone.

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2012So what happens to your sensation xe? U still using it or ... morethe sensation XE I had was used for 3 months so Im trading it away for a gud deal cause I don't have anymore need of the XE. Well I can understand yourw woes few of my friends has the sensation XE and even when they got the ICS update it was buggy with WiFi issues and all. My XE luckily didn't experience those things HTC made the sensation XE to back up the sensation Theres not much difference between them except the beats and overclocked processor in terms of hardware but the software they made alot of improvementa on it. I guess that's y my experience with the XE was not bad it has good battery life lasts 2 days with average use.

AnonD-50641, 16 Apr 2012here is my complaint on HTC Malaysia site (Facebook link) -... morehello friend maybe you got a faulty unit because this phone I have been using it for more then a week and I even played many. HD games but the heat doesn't go as high as being over heated. If the phone is over heating you can't hold it without the disturbance. but normal heating is there like in all the other phones which isn't on an uncomfortable level. and the reception isn't bad at all its better then my sensation XE

My wife juz got this phone for 2 weeks and here is the problems:

              1) Overheating very fast when comparing to other phones that we previously had.

              2) Very poor signal reception when comparing to our previous phones ...shame when comparing side by side with Samsung Wave. HTC One X signal is DEAD while Samsung Wave still got 2 signal bars up.

              3) Very limited GPS apps because it requires High Resolution.

              4) Minor flickering on the ads(some ppl really irritated with it) Still, I'm ok.

***Biggest issue is poor signal reception. No signal means I'm unable to online or even make a decent call~!!!!!

whats up with these huuuge screens? might as well ship these devices with a landline cord as they are too big for any pocket known to man.. any screen over 4 inches should be prohibited by law.

Wonder why your review of HTC One X conveniently skips commenting on the all-important battery life of the handset? You only compel readers to conclude that it is lousy like on most HTC phones. And that you avoided mentioning it for fear of annoying the company's honchos. This can only detract from the overall credibility of GSM Arena reviews.

Because no matter how exciting a phone on features, it is a cipher without a decent battery life. What's more your reviewer is disappointed with the camera though the Engadget review says it is "fantastic". Can there be such a drastic difference in standards between two tech reviewers?

[deleted post]What user friendly ? there are 25.3 GB for the storage acting as an SD card and there are 1.2 GB for applications acting as an internal memory so to be precise 27.5 GB is available the rest of the 5 GB is for the OS and other stuff in the phone. Even in pen drives and hard disks you wont get the full 32 GB if its a 32 GB pen drive you will probable get 29-30 GB's.

How about that apple delivers a product that is so simple,so well designed and polished, people will pay for it? Sorry but I getting over these nerds and their emo thoughts about tech.

I have a HTC ONE X and its the best droid in my opinion, hands down. Battery is good, its the first screen to me which beats the SGS2 and iP4S hands down, and it has HTCs user interface, which is so nice compared to any droid.

BUT, iPhone 4s music store is on another level. Its apps usually so much more refined. Only now is the android store with PLAY starting to really compete. but even then, take a look at the difference.

When you use both you know what I mean.

Angry Birds: On iPhone, the game is more fluid, probably because of the iOS touch screen controls, or probably the game was better coded for iOS. On Android, the colours are a touch off, and the game feels more stiff.

NBA.TV: On iPhone you can get razor sharp live games, that really help when watching a fast sports game on a little mobile screen, colours look good.

NBA.TV on Android: Even on WIFI connection 18Mbps stable! You cant get anything more than 480P youtube quality on a screen which is bigger, so it looks even worse than it would have if it was iPhone.

I didnt like my SGS2, but thats just my opinion. To me, it was a massive phone compared to the IPhone 4S, but had a terrible resolution which defeated the point of having a phone that size, and its main feature was having great contrast because of the amoled screen. The UI sucked, it looked like WIn 95. All black with some blue writing. People like this on a dual core phone?

And you get all these nerds rejoicing over the SGS2 (and other androids) being the fatsest etc etc and they dont actually consider what its like to use in real life COMPARED to these other phones.

I see poeple on here argue about which phones better, as if it was a family problem at home, and NEITHER of the 2 people argue have the phone!! Oh yeah SHS3 is better than iPhone 5! Whatever dude. Try the phone, but one thing is for sure in life, there is always something better, something different. People will always have different tastes.. but saying that someone is silly for being locked in to an OS that is prettier easier (and some could say more useful) app and music resource is just stupid. Try it for a month and see how you go, then come back here and then come back and talk about your experience.
