There's no need for us to tell you the importance of the Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III for both its own manufacturer and the Android world in general - our daily interest stats speak for themselves. Its predecessor was really something special...

AnonD-21645, 09 May 2012It's clear you're a troll and aren't even interested in GS3... morePlastic makes every phone more or less cheap by design and build techique used.

NO, I don't put any of my phones in a case. It's like slapping myself in the face for paying premium for a phone that sits hidden in a case/bag.

I DON'T HAVE AN IPHONE.

Speaking of trolling I'm not because trolling means to heavily favor a specific phone/manufacturer and I don't, I'm just saiyng my opinion(freely).
You could be the troll in question because you favor atlast one phone, in this case Samsung!

And if plastics absorb shocks better than metal or glass. Then its better to make phones out of plastic since one cannot neglect the durablity aspect & just go after premium feel &
About the droptest its the most practical and effective test in real world I m not talking about some stupid crazy test like blending, microwaving,or shooting they r useless
Don't u drop ur phone by mistake?if Just the glass of iphone is scattered not the screen. & the phone is working perfectly fine. So just to repair it will cost u a 'premium' 200$

To give oxygen to your comment though...

There's no doubt, Sammy favours plastic over metal / glass - but that doesn't make them cheap, or any less durable..

The fact of the matter is that iphone, as lovely as it looks (and it does look great) is not only the weight of a brick for a 3.5" screen, but also the slightest drop or water on it, and it's basically rendered a very expensive paperweight.

Yes, there's definitely something to be said for DESIGN (Sammy's is definitely lacking) - but are you not going to put your iphone in a case? Instantly negating all those premium materials - because all you will see is the protective shell?

The iphone isn't designed or made for real-world usage, it's merely eye-catching and belies a very basic product underneath... it's fantastic for what it is, but it cannot compete with the likes of the HTC X or GS3 for sheer usefulness...

If you favour looks that you must hide to protect your phone, over what the phone can do - stick with your iphone... I think people on here prefer a little more substance with their technology....

The new screen of sgsIII has HD resolution but pentile screen whatever it looks under microscope I don't care unless it crisp vivid in front of my eyes.
Just a few months back when there were no hd screens in smartphones every one were thinking will we ever get a hd screen in a smartphone that would be a truly a futuristic thing but when they get it they start in a new controversy of pentile non-pentile shit
If one think technology changes very fast I would like to ask them how much have they changed or done anything in contributing in the future or they the same lame persons commenting & discouraging the ppl who r working hard to improve the future

Here's a video comparision between HD SUPER AMOLED(pentile) and SUPER AMOLED PLUS(non-pentile) screen watch it then judge urself

AnonD-2521, 09 May 2012About the build quality its made out of polycarbonate with ... moreIf design(and in that case build quality) doesn't count the phone should look preety awfull after some use and you won't get used to it, even a single scratch could kill your nerves.

Samsung uses poor designs and poor materials on their top-end phones(galaxy S3 has polycarbonate covered with nail polish only on the back and the sides that look like metal are actually painted ordinary plastic)

That test you are talking about is the most idiot test on the earth, stop using it as an argument. Obviously Iphone 4 has more cracks in the screen because it has A METAL FRAME and if you've learned at school, plastic(in that case Galaxy S2 case) absorbs shocks better than metal.

                      WARNING!!! WARNING!!!

This could be test tweaked device. There is a big amount of Galaxy S2 devices with Samsung camera module known as SC module. Worst than original Galaxy S low frameratr bad focusing, and Samsung don't give a shit about that issue. They even say "It's just a phone".
And when they promote it, it's GALAXY :)
Samsung asshol.ss and even GSM Arena keeps quite!!!
So be wise wait and don't buy until you can see is there issues with devices. Don't be naive!!!
Even today they are replacing SGS2 camera modules with those bad ones.

When it comes to performance vs design in the long run a smart person would choose performance
If u have a phone with very premium feel you will get used to it in just a week and after that its performasnce that matters the most

                                  S2 looks better than S3.

Too big, should have been smaller than or at least equal to S2.

I'll wait for next nexus from Google.

                                  Thanks.

Nice review, I am still waiting for the Audio test and battery tests before I decide whether or not to change from an iPhone 4s

*Expandable memory - I keep some 10GB worth of music and audio books. I would download torrents while mobile using the Atorrent app.

*Removable Battery - with multiple heavy usage, my battery would give me an average of 7 hours straight. Instead of waiting to charge that one battery that came with the phone, you can change it with a fresh one. I get through 2 batteries daily. Until fuel cells become a norm to power our devices, I do this so I get the most our of the Note and an unlimited data plan.
