23 May 2012
With the dust still settling from one of the most exciting smartphone battles the industry has seen, and clouds of stardust swirling around a complete review, it's time to step back and take a sober look at two great phones. Two glorious chapters in...

what you see near the front camera is the proximity sensor and not a led notifications
But you can use 3rd party app like BLN that makes the screen blink when you receive email, sms or missed calls.

Great article GSM arena! Glad to see these kind of comparisones (you could do with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s)...:)))

It made me decide to buy SGS II, but one thing you forgot to mention about the SGS III and that's the notification LED as one of the pros.

What most idiots here fail to realize is you can get Samsung's official battery pack for like thirty bux which will get you a 2000 mah battery and a much more better looking back cover. There battery issue solved.

Even though I love my GS1 was always looking on a bit enviously at workmates who got the GS2(on my recommendation I may add!!!).

This time I have grasped the nettle financially speaking and opted for the 12 month contract option. Bit of wedge up front but safe in the knowledge my GS3 will still fetch a decent amount when it comes time to upgrade this time next year.

Can't wait till the 30th and get this Superphone in my mitts!

To those people asking for their own customised and personal Handset X versus Handset Y test, have you any idea how much work is needed to write an article like this one?
If they were to do a Galaxy S versus S3 comparison for one person, can they do me one where they compare my old Nokia 3210 to a GS3,or the remote control to my Samsung Blueray player to a GS3,or even my DeLonghi microwave oven to a GS3? The point of this is that once they start doing requests, they have to do them for everyone, shame really there's only 24 hours in a day isn't it?
This test is very relevant because most high end smartphones will be on 2 year contracts,so people who got a GS2 a year or so ago when they came out won't yet be ready for an upgrade yet,so need to know if they're going to pay for a GS3 is it really worth it?

Fruitcake, 26 May 2012Still think the S2 is the better value smartphone,an the sc... moreI'd have thought after all that's been written on this subject the facts about a mobile phone not always being better because it's got a bigger image sensor would have sunk in by now? Having another 4 million pixels doesn't make a handset better than one that's "only" got 8 million to start with, and it certainly doesn't make it better value for money.Trying to squeeze more pixels into a given space would normally mean smaller pixel sites,so less sensitive to light and so more noise on the images.
I say again well done to Samsung for having the common sense NOT to jump on the "more pixels sells more handsets" bandwagon that is now travelling at considerable speed, and with Nokia in the drivers seat it's likely to lose control and crash and burn pretty soon.It still baffles the hell out of me why people would chose (or not as the case may be)a mobile communications device based on the number of pixels on it's image sensor.

I am perfect happy with the SGS 2

But my only comment about the S3 is that I use to look forward to see what Apple came out with but I really do not think the S3 can be bested this year.

I would not upgrade to the as I don't think I will gain much

Any other comment re Apple is negative so if you still have your microsims they fit Samsung also
