The Nokia 808 PureView has finally landed in swirling storms of hype. And of course, it wasn't given a chance to catch a breath. We didn't meet it empty-handed either. We had a finger on the shutter of some mean cameraphones and an EVIL digicam...

I vote for E. It has the smallest pixelisation effect. But the F looks better overall

I thought Pure will be my next phone but I see that my N8 is still the best/apart olympus/. It gives less contrast an smoother tones. Shadows are also better than competitors.
I'm disappointed.
Probably Nokia paid more attention to video mode and zoom factor. I hope that picture quality can be finally improved.

m86k, 16 Jun 2012Thanks for this blindtest, here's my opinion, i would be da... morei strongly disagree with you... perhaps you are basing your judgment with those 100% crop image samples alone. look at the whole pictures zoomed in 100%, look for any small objects as many you would like to and see which camera has given you the most details.

i vote for E as the best (maybe a dedicated camera with big sensor, the olympus E-PL2) for the following reasons:

some resolved details from the E picture on page 1:
-produced the thinnest horizontal lines on glass building
-shown the dragon scale type roofing (sorry for the term) of the building (behind the glass building)
-somewhat an electrical line extended from the top of the 6th floor (rightmost, center)
-lastly, the name "philippine airlines" flashed from the plane above (jokejokejoke!)

some resolved details from the E picture on page 2:
-most readable characters above the UniCredit Bulbank (rightmost, center)
-"250center" below the 53 bistro billboard
-contrast of the sky against the mountain is just perfect

p.s.: i am not a prof photographer but just a cellphone lover. at least my comments are based on my own point of view and i'm not discounting the capability of 808pureview, and i could be wrong in judging E as Olympus.
