AnonD-54424, 18 Jun 2012exactly...told gsm arena to include xperia s and they delet... moreI agree that including Sony Xperia S would have been reasonable, but Sony fans should be realistic and accept that Xperia S can't be compared to 808, PV is miles ahead, but it could easily beat Sgs3 and maybe iPhone 4S...

Aha haha aha aha ahum ahem haha. Whoever is comparing Pureview to a DSLR is an idiot. If you ask me, the colors of 'A' are a little bit oversaturated ad less close to original. I do not own an iPhone, but you can see that the colors of 'D' are closer to natural than 'A'. Also, going 'purely' after megapixel counts alone is 'pure' stupidity because it has a small sized sensor and hence more noise. Megapixels alone don't matter guys, optics and equally important, the sensor is relevant too. Pureview has the best mobile optics in carl zeis but as the name suggests, they're 'mobile optics' no-where close to DSLRs.

First, 808 will perform worse then epl2 if zoom is used. This is because the effective sensor size in 808 will be reduced.
2nd, in daylight, a higher MP will resolve better, due to the sensor size playing a lesser role(both are similarly big). Try the tests in night time, where the lens size will play an impt role.
GSMarena: nokia users tend to hide the above facts.

Nokia has now left the crowd of competing cameraphones with conventional image capturing technology & entered the realm of DSLRs. It is indeed a giant leap and a welcomed development

Ziad, 18 Jun 2012I wounder about the N8 photos!!!!
I have the N8 and it i... moreDo you mean the actual images of the N8 are bad or the results are bad?
In my opinion the N8's pictures do look better than those of the other phones except 808.
If you mean it's votes in this test was bad then the answer is simple, most people who could see N8 was better than S3, 4S etc. could also see the 808 was the best of them all so voted for it and GSMARENA only counted you're number one vote, so those numbers represent how many people thought the phone was best.
The people who voted for the 4S and S3 were probably iPhans and S-Fans who could see that either E(808) or F(Olympus) was best but knew how their device's images looked and voted for it.
Therefor no one really voted for the N8 because even if they were a N8 or Nokia fan they would rather vote Pureview because it was better and "the new N8".

Ziad, 18 Jun 2012I wounder about the N8 photos!!!! I have the N8 and it i... moreThe fact that N8 didn't got any votes is explained by the fact that its photos are similar to 808's images, except the fact that PV images are many times better than them...

what wow, 18 Jun 2012In the end Nokia's attempt is pointless. If someon need a g... moreThe olympus is not a mid level point and shoot. Thats a micro 4/3rds cam.MFT shares the original image sensor size and specification with the Four Thirds system, designed for DSLRs. Thats a step above point and shoots. All the other high end point and shoots have also been beaten by it. Sony hx20v and panasonic lumix dmc-lx5 have also been beaten by the pureview. Right now its not really hard to see it beating a low end slr. Also you are missing the point, people buying this will want something they can fit in their pocket and transport easily. No one lugs around with huge dslrs unless they are photographers. By your logic, instead of buying a point and shoot, people should just get a dslr cause its better. Truth is small and portable is a market an that's where it will sell. If there is going to be an slr that shows significantly better images than this its going to be significantly more expensive as well, its not going to cost just 300 euros to get obviously better image performance. Besides with the pureveiw you get all the other features of a smartphone. No cam out there offers that.

Can you record a 1080p video with Olympuss E-PL2? No, you can't. 808 isn't a DSLR device in camera world, but among mobile phones it is.

In the end Nokia's attempt is pointless. If someon need a good caemra they will get a DSLR. Note that the Olympus PEN E-PL2 isn't a DSLR, it's only a mid level point and shoot. A real DSLR which you can get off ebay used for less than 300 euros will beat the N808 with as little at 12 mp.
