Lmfao!!!! Like i said way back, pitting 808 against other phones in a camera contest equals a blood bath. 808 is one mean beast! Damn I mean it even wiped the floor with an olympus- beating it by more than twice the vote! I don' care what anyone says now 808 is best smartphone for me. But I can't stop lauging at Htc and it's image sense omg I think even a good 3mpx cam would beat one x!

lax, 18 Jun 2012I’m surprised the iphone and S3 got more votes that the N8... moreBut remember that Nokia N8 was downgraded to 8 Megapixels and Nokia 808 pureview had a downgrade from 38 mega pixels to 8 mega pixels and had the best results with the pureview technology!

First nokia will made dedicated satnavs obsolete
now p&s cameras (and some even more advanced / expensive) will soon be gone
funny how an "outdated" system does that
iphone4s and sgs3 can replace a camera because of terrible low light performance and only digital zoom
nor can they replace a satnav without paying or internet connection
nor a mp3 player because of poor battery life.
nor a media player without expensive adapters
and thats considered modern? please...

Don't get me wrong, n808 is considered to be my next phone, bud if it's comparable with serious cameras, then let's put all cards on the table! It is a powerful camera phone and these tests are just bonus points for it!

The 808 is totally different and it can beat compact cameras that cost equal or even more than 808, while being a very good smartphone too and it is worthy of buying even just for the camera...

Why is the Xperia S not included in the shoot-out? The Xperia S beat the N8 in the previous comparison, I think the Xperia S deserves to be in the list.

My only disagreement with the result is that the I think SGS3 (B) is better than the iphone (D)
- In the first samples B has more natural colours while sharpness is equal
- The second samples there is more noise showing in dark areas of D
- In the 4th samples there is a lot less noise in B and it is sharper particularly in the hedges.
It was obvious that D was the iphone because of the narrower field of view. Therefore i think maybe the voting was skewed by apple fans. Either way the 808 had the best photos with the biggest disappointments being the One X and N8.
Just my 2c worth.

Honestly, I don't get all these fanboyism. Generally, for many people, if the camera on a phone is decent, it's already good enough for them.
If it was that important, the 808 will already be a best seller, and the N8 would have sold extremely well since it was unmatched when it came out. As it is, the consumers decide that the camera on a phone isn't actually that important.
