I’m surprised the iphone and S3 got
more votes that the N8. I guess more
people chose them as the best pic
than the N8. However in going
through the responses, I found many
people matched my judgment of E,F and A being far better than the rest.
This seemed to be the majority
opinion. There really was a clear gap
between these three and the others,
so I’m surprised the iphone and S3
would have so many first place votes.

@GSMArena: How many seconds and thirds did each device get?? I'd love to know... Please give us the old table as well. (Just like the one in N8's Blind Test).

Well, Nokia 808 has a new contender in the form of Sony RX100 pocket P&S. The P&S niche is not quite dead yet.

While it was good news that the Nokia 808 deservedly got the 1st spot, I feel GSMarena should have made the results more transparent by posting up the most votes for the second, third etc...places to really see an overall idea of how the cameras stack up with each other. In any case, it should have been done in a poll format in the first place - comment votes are such a mess!

yeah you're right. many comments were based on the sample 100% crop images and not from the picture as a whole. i really agree that A.N8 received majority of the 3rd place votes. it should be scored by ranking not by 1st place votes alone or it should clearly post both. i voted for E. but thinking it was Olympus, next F and third was A.

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2012To put into context 89% of the votes went to the Nokia 808 ... moreYes you are correct, I did vote, as it turns out, for the 4S for that reason, the colours did pop out at you. Clearly I need to have lessons in photography and thanks to all for explaining more about it.

N8 and 808 should not be allowed to be tested against the other smartphone cameras because its in a league of its own. To be fair 808 should be tested against DSLR camera and the other smartphones against the similar phones or else we are going to get a skewed result like this

Zero vote
that's pretty pathetic
and Nokia fanboys, just admit that the camera of N8 is below the average. Cheers.

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2012To put into context 89% of the votes went to the Nokia 808 ... moreYou are absolutely right.
The chart by gsmarena can be misleading to anyone who does not understand what it represents.
The Nokia N8 would be in third place for IMAGE QUALITY, based on the votes.
What the chart shows is the number of 1ST PLACE VOTES that EACH phone received.
It's sad to think that some people will look at the chart and think that the Nokia N8 placed 5th based on quality.
I hope the gsmarena team rectifies this by either stating it clearly, or publishing placing based on quality.
Many people put a lot of faith in these articles, and we don't want anyone getting the wrong impression of the Nokia N8.

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2012Mm i think if you do that iphone & s3 will winHahahahaha! What a joke! In low light the difference will be many times bigger than in daylight... Anyway it would be nice to see Apple/Samsung fanboys crying again.
I would like to see a video blind test beetween Nokia 808, Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Nikon D800, the new Sony NEX point and shoot and some mirrorless cameras (using a tripod) and an other one at a concert, so we can test Nokia Rich Recording cababilities. Who knows, people may get surprised again...
And please stop comparing 808's camera to other phone's cameras, the difference is huge, it's simply sensless...
