Android 4.1 Jelly Bean preview: First look

28 June 2012
Google used its I/O 2012 conference in San Francisco to unveil the latest release of Android. Carrying the version number 4.1, the new Android Jelly Bean is supposed to come as more of a polish to Ice Cream Sandwich, than a major game changer. Don’t think for a second though...

I still use my 2 years old iPhone 4, i don't want to upgrade to 4s due to the same design & considering my upgrade to be iPhone 5.

However the slickness of jelly bean makes my choice split between iOS or android, judging by the video jelly bean is slicker than ics, it's as if it was an iOS or WP, totally no lag or slow.

I'll wait for JB's launch, an operating system that utilize multi core of the hardware is truly worth the money not like ics, should the JB is proved to be as good as the video shows us in DAILY LIFE then i might say goodbye to iOS.

hey guys this is from anandtech

Update 2: I've asked for further clarification about what USB-OTG functionality is supported. Using a mouse and keyboard will be supported, and I saw Google using an ethernet to USB adapter over USB-OTG as well. Unfortunately I found out that mounting USB storage will not be supported natively. In addition MHL is not supported.

so micro sd won't be problem ;)

I wonder if people of superior intelligence than me, and really know the facts, can tell me just how secure and safe in Android. I really do want to know this. It is generally known that Android / Google has some really smart ways of monitoring your every move. Is this why Samsung is making a SAFE SIII for business. I have heard, rightly or wrongly that everything you do is monitored in some way. Great that JB is coming and no doubt Android 5 will will somewhere better but I still am concerned about my personal and business information.

                    Still no SDCard Encryption ?
Support for Ext2/Ext3 filesystem on SDCard ?

I think google is halfhearted on android sdcard.

If u want fast updates for Android, buy a Google device like the Galaxy Nexus. Not some other company phone like HTC and Samsung who takes Forever to update and implement their Bloatware on Android and only cause Fragmentation.

So this SHOULD make its way to the SGS2, seeing as the Nexus is a similar design.

If it doesn't then expect a HUGE backlast from Android owners, and migration to iOS and Windows phones.
