Sony Xperia T review: T-rex

24 September 2012
Back when the driving seat was shared with Ericsson, Sony was a little short of delivering a real winner in the high-end market, the company's top-range smartphones always a notch below the Galaxy S lineup and their HTC counterparts...

Battery capacity < 2000 mAh and not accessable in any way which means its a no go for me and many others. I've been very eager to try a Sony phone for quite a while but the mediocre battery life and non removable batteries makes me turn toward other brands. Sorry.

To people who kept going on about benchmarks and how the phone is so fast and sony is the best and people started to have a dig at the S3 for having a qaud core processor etc. Quite frankly I will never be buying a sony phone again because they keep lacking the important stuff and this review is disappointing.

IK mean audio quality sucks, it is even slightly lower in volume than the xperia sand that was rubbish imo. The speaker volume is weak.
Video quality not being all that great.
Battery life isnt that great either

This is why when people just keep banging on about benchmarks of phones and how fast they are I asked the question, is it all about how fast a phone is?

what about camera/video, call quality, audio quality/volume, speaker volume, battery life. what these don't matter because the phone is fast????

      Spot-on review.

I see you tried only centre weighted metering mode, what about spot?

And why not a single low light image?

About flap cover - does it opens by itself due to poor implementation or it's holding tight?

In your comparison chart Xperia T shows quite poor results even comparing to Xperia S, while in images you posted in separate Xperia S/T review it fairs much better.

      Cheers,
      Miki

Such a famous imaging company and such a mediocre camera quality?

S3 for 480 Euro? Here it cost 620 Euro in the local mall. I live just outside Manila, Philippines.

Xperia S is right above 450 Euro here.

Optimus G and One X, i dont care about the price, no cardslot = no sale, as usual. Lucky Sony has learned their lesson now, the card slot is back to stay after the very modest sales of the Xperia S, P and U.
