HTC Desire V review: A simple wish

8 October 2012
Long gone are the glory days of the Desire line - once a cradle of flagships, it now gives in to the rise of the One series. With the Wildfires all but extinguished, the Desires got the lower midrange all to themselves. But instead of clinging to a glorious past, they're now trusted to start winning over the next generation of smartphone users...

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2012Too much focus on dual sim here. I think many will be willi... moreI think Dual Sim phones are an essential tool for anyone travelling regularly.
Iam disapointed that the options are all such low specced devices.. If I can buy An HTC one s with Dual sim I would be very happy.
I had a Desire V which was stoled last time I was in China. and although usable I was frustrated with the slow performance after my One S.

"picking between the HTC Desire V and the Samsung Galaxy S Duos is all about your personal preference of UI - Sense or TouchWiz."
actually, there are some diferences. for example, Samsung Galaxy S Duos supports native video calls, HTC Desire V doesn't.
so, i guess reasonable people (normal people, not fanboys) would pick Samsung since it has better features than HTC.

Too much focus on dual sim here. I think many will be willing to drop dual sim (after all, most people buy dual sim phones only once as its neither practical nor useful) and rather go for the Xperia J, which has a front cam and slightly higher resolution with the more preferred 16:9 format, plus a bit bigger battery and more camera functonality (image stabilizer, i believe the Desire V dont have that). Slightly better specs at lower price, and best of all the Xperia J has no HTC software to slow things down and crash the phone.

best dual sims is with dual core mtk6577 chipset. Some of them have 1gb ram, 8mpix cameras, hd screens, big batteries. But next month there will quadcore mtk6588 28nm dual sims with real 13mpix cameras. early next year will be 8-core mtk6599 phones.
