LG Optimus G review: Grand Slam

22 October 2012
Designed to a flagship standard and powered by the latest in handheld computing, the Optimus G cannot hope for a warm welcome from rivals but is due every bit of their respect. LG is not asking for it – it’s getting ready to earn it...

Can we please put an end to the notion that owning a smartphone is all about updating your OS? Sticking conveniently and safely with a version one is already satisfied with is just as good as updating every 4 months and messing up your settings. Neither should be considered a negative in professional reviews. Unless the reviewer is bankrupt on ideas.

Mobilemaster, 01 Nov 2012I would not say LG is the best brand, but maybe the Optimus... moreI don't think Samsung will ever beat LG in terms of structure and design.LG is and will always have the best and the most elegant phones.

LG phones have the best design, compared to any other phone on this planet.Their hardware is the most durable and efficient.LG phones are strong and elegant at the same time.My own LG phone got dropped 4-5 times from a great height, even once from a staircase, and its screen is still perfect. The graphics of gingerbread in LG is better than the. 'galaxies' and every others. They should bring out a jellybean update for such high end phones of LG.

Mobilemaster, 04 Nov 2012There is a major problem with this phone:non user replaceab... moreYou should check out just how non user-removable the battery is by users before you dismiss a phone.

Just about all traditional wristwatches have batteries considered non user-replaceble, but still easy with the correct tool depending on type (prying tool, small screw driver or rubber ball/ Jaxa wrench).

RAZR XT910 has non user-removable battery, but still easy to open and replace. Just One screw behind the camera trim plate. iphone is way worse and pretty much lives up to being non-removable.

Not sure how easy it will be to open this one. Could be that it's glued shut, or something. Could be that a prying tool is all one need to gain access to the battery.

There is a major problem with this phone:non user replaceable battery. If something bad will happen with your battery, you need to pay a lot to get a new battery. I would never buy a phone which has this issue.
I rather buy a phone with micro-sim card, that problem can be fixed easily.

All Samsung phones look same in design they do not have innovation either the length is increased or the mobile is made thin but they use basic design plot for all handsets for example look at SIII NoteII,Ace II,etc.
LG they try to innovate something new in market. But people go on with trend "My neighbor has S III now even I have to get one" this is the mentality.

I'm proud that I took a decision to buy an LG phone (Optimius One) over Samsung, Sony Ericsson & Motorola. The money I invested in it is worth every penny.
It's (Optimius One) 2 year Old now never visited service center except for GB Update, Hats off for built quality, great display, loud & clear sound both in call & music & the list goes on & on.
The phone had many falls & due to rain it was wet for several times but never faced any problem. Lots of apps installed always get the low internal memory warning but lags very very less when compared to other phones in it's segment. Battery I did not face any problem & I'm most of time connected to internet via wifi or 2g/3g. never faced problem & as far as support & services LG is the best (depends on nature of service store owner) but at my place I found it better that all other companies. I'm looking forward to buy Nexus 4 by LG. Just shared my experience. If you think Samsung is major player in market let's wait & watch...
