Polycarbonate is excellent material. Plastics are better than aluminum. It is highly shapeable yet returns to form after impact. Lightweight. Can be Hyperglazed for durable color. Can be colored thru to keep its color if scratched. Very durable that they're used for helmets, high performance lenses and safety goggles, even military/police handguns. Most expensive sport cars now use plastic bodies (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) due to lightness and strength. Aluminum and plastic can both be expensive and cheap, e.g. soda cans and Reynolds wrap. Aluminum is just glorified to much. Yet after purchase aluminum phones are covered by quality plastic cases by their owners. :-)

Such a cool phone. Anywho looking for a upgrade and this seems to fit my intrests. I wonder how much this would run me.????????

well battery life is amazing. i got 5 days out of mine. and uk version has a radio app. but loses out on no LTE. shame. but hey who cares.

It has been 5 weeks with the Note2 and I am glad I pulled the trigger this time for this phone (after reading this ultra professional review). Watching FullHD video while watching Youtube on the same screen, opening huge Powerpoint files-Excel-Word files, converting Word to PDF (I even opened *.dwg file with the AutoCAD software quickly) are all flawless. Teamviewer works perfectly for remote connection of my PC. This is a true PowerPhone (if there is any such class yet). I almost forgot the place of my notebook at home. Web surfing is so fast and screen is soooo lovely. And yes it is big but manageable. Only thing that would be fine to exist is the floating icons of Sony PS Vita (not for functionality but for just eye candy purpose). This is not a toy (thanks that Angry Birds doesn't come pre-installed by the way). This is the ultimate working tool of Dirty Harry. This is for absolute power users.

But it does not support usb mass storage, so I can't transfer files between it to computer. What a pity for a high-end class smartphone.

Been using this phone for 2 weeks now . Everything good thing mentioned in the reviews below is true .
I will also add and confirm that the GPU on this beast is on par with the iphone 5 and ipad 3 . Yes you heard me !
Need for speed, Wild blood and all the high-end graphic intensive games play smoothly without one simple hick-up or lag . And the bigger screen is just AMAZING for both games and HD movies .
This is the future . Get on it !

I use the note II since one week and still explore all the feature this phone provides
Early conclusion : very fast , fantastic screen , jelly bean is as real improvement , multi task and with the pen certain apps are even faster to use - for me the perfect phone !

Harsh, 30 Oct 2012hi frnds why this fone gets heated......I have no clue. All I know is that Exynos processors, for whatever reason, have a strange heat obsession. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing. Just so long as my device continues to perform well and smoothly, and it's heat obsession doesn't burn me...

I noticed in the review how it talked about the hardware buttons below the screen, and how they are a good thing given the fact that when a manufacturer opts for the onscreen software buttons, they usually still have that extra space below the screen. So, they are saying that devices should be designed something like this: http://postimage.org/image/qk3m5nnd1/ and this: http://postimage.org/image/wmfu9w16t/ when they use software buttons instead of hardware buttons.

I am owned one with grafite (Grey?) color and it is more and more beautiful then the great Optimus G. It is my position, ok? ;-)
