16 January 2013
So, this may as well be the first against the last of their respective kind. Nokia would gladly try and sell you PureView in various wraps and Android-powered cameras are not unheard of, but a shootout like this...

Nokia is the king of camera phones and will surely continue it. In the future there are lot of lumia phones with pureview technology guys. So Nokia will continue its rein:-)

Congratulation to Samsung for a nice camera, but not smartphone. There´s no more hilarious scene than one person removing Samsung camera from a pocket (full) and put it on his ear!!! Can you imagine?! hahahaha!!!!

Nokia Pureview 808 is the best cameraphone ever made .
Samsung Galaxy Camera is just a camera with android .

You didn't even bother to update the 808 to FP2?

It improves the gallery a lot, and corrects a few bugs in photo taking.

And I think someone on your team is having a difficult time holding the 808, because I took photos with much longer exposure than 1/8 and didn't look so shakey

nokia 808 is the best option in case you love taking pictures, videos. i am a big fan of nokia. it still has the best camera phone. i used lots of nokia phones( n82 , e90, c7 , 701), and all i can say the n82 is the best omong them.

then i got a hot offer to trade my last nokia 701 (which i should say it is a very good phone, capable , for your daily use, no hanging at all, but with few applications) to samsung galaxy s3 plus some cash. it has a good camera for daily use at least better than the nokia 701.

i hope nokia comes with something new combining the pureview 1 &2 together. this should be the best companion while traveling.

i am currently supporting both of the brands . they offers really good phones.

best of luck for both of them.

Good job Samsung, but the Galaxy Camera is just a camera with a tablet on its back. 808 remains the king of cameraphones.

The 808 is a simple smartphone with the best camera ever in a phone. The Galaxy camera is just a camera maybe the worst camera compared to other cameras like Nikon etc. If i want a good cameraphone i buy the 808, if i want a good smartphone i buy L920, BbZ10, Xperia Z, or iPh5, if i want a good camera i buy a dslr. Galaxy camera? Don't see a reason to buy.

Do not even compare that piece of crap with Nokia 808, because it`s a phone, you can talk on it. Samsung galaxy camera it`s just a camera with android, and definetly I would not buy such a device, instead I`ll buy a sony. So don`t compare

No, it's just a "connected camera" test to see what might happen or what is better- a phone with an insanely huge sensor and very good optics(yet no zoom)or a connected to the web camera.

Nokia is a phone with great camera, while Samsung is a camera with the abilities of a phone.

Very nice comparison. I can't help but wonder if Samsung decided to put enthusiast size sensor (1/1.7 - 2/3) or an APS-C and make it interchangeable camera system. Size wouldn't be much different with a nice pancake prime lens and it will destroy anything the competition has.

Now it is just the best compact ultra-zoom camera.

Nokia should bring this camera to Lumia and Asha phones, just imagine Asha 311 with this camera, for me this will be the perfect phone, add Instgram, Dropbox, Flickr apps and i see no need to think of any other phone.

But, i know that will never happen, but there is a hope for Lumia with this camera.
