i love this phone a lot! why i choose this phone first is because the design is elegant luxury and simple also the material is good too. Compared with acro s maybe just the camera acro s is 12mp and xperia v is 13mp, i have no battery issue at all, both is great!! i'm not really game addict so dual core krait is more more than enough for me, this phone will still valuable in 4-5years later

xperia v, 20 May 2013just like you've stated
xperia v is more powerful. also ... moreWell yeah, all those features you stated are true... but they are at a cost.... and today if you offer me both phones at the same price I would choose the Acro S again....
This does not make me a less techie person, it is just that the Acro S suits me better... specially since in my country I can't use LTE and the specific band for my carrier is missing from Xperia V.
Anyway both phones are great, but personally I use the microHDMI port a lot... I plug it to my 40" TV while docked and charging and that also leaves the microUSB port free to be used with my USB OTG Cable to which I plug my Microsoft Arc Touch mouse... and all of this combined with my Logitech BT K810 Keyboard, gives me the most flexible computer experience I have ever got from a smartphone... (including the Galaxy S3)...
All those hardware advantages let me use my Acro S in a way you can't with a Xperia V, even though it has a tad faster chip.
To be honest, both Screen look equally good. Graphic are marginally better on Xperia V, but the Acro S still manage to crunch good benchmark thanks to Sony's optimizing team.
So as you can see I AM a techie person and for that very reason is why I chose the Acro S over Xperia V...
And I bet both of us are waiting for the rumored Sony Honami :-)

DQ, 05 Feb 2013Ok, I just received my Xperia Acro S and I am very Very Hap... morejust like you've stated
xperia v is more powerful. also you're asking why buy V over acro s, lots of reason. better bravia, better processor, better gpu, removable battery, lighter, cooler and of course, it has LTE!! obviously acro s is for the less techy person (if they wanna have LTE to brag about)

can you please make detailed comparison between Xperia Acro S and Xperia V? Sill don't get which one is better...
Acro S:
Wet finger tracking! (This is the main reason. It annoys the hell outa me that my Defy is waterproof... but cannot be used unless it's completely dry).
16GB on-board (vs 8GB eMMC)
1910 mAh battery (vs 1750 mAh)
1.3MP front camera (vs crappy VGA)
Cheaper. Significantly. (350 EUR vs. 470 EUR)
Camera button
Better Camera ?? (Using your compare tool)
Micro HDMI out
HSPA+ Band II (1900)
Included Docking Station (saves 30 EUR)
Xperia V:
Much more faster (S4 vs S3)
On-screen buttons.
UMTS cat24: 42Mbps (vs cat 10: 14Mbps)
LTE
"Opticonstrast" panel
Bluetooth 4 (vs Bluetooth 3)
"Bravia 2", "ClearAudio+", HDR
Removable Battery
Smaller dimensions at all
Thinner, looks better.

As a point of interest, comparing the asking price for the Xperia V and the Galaxy III on one of the more popular plans in Singapore, the Xperia V costs half as much up front.
