Is this phone ever going to release in India? Indian customers, like myself have been waiting for this phone since it's announcement 6 months ago. Sony has neither released Xperia Acro S nor the Xperia V in India for some reason. And there hasn't been a confirmation from Sony that they will or will not release this phone. Although the phone is available in a few markets across the globe,Sony-India will NOT cover it in warranty. Thhis is really unfair of SOny.. Their marketing strategy does not seem to be existent at all !!!

They complained in the beginning ... moreOk, I just received my Xperia Acro S and I am very Very Happy with it... I haven't tried the Xperia V, but I suspect that I am partially right with my previous comment...
Acro S is lagging a bit in Graphics, but other than that it is Awesome...
I do miss some features of my, sadly, stolen Galaxy S3... but now I love to "not having to dry my hands" to use the phone :)

One X is the one known for doing well in benchmark but... moreBy the way, one of the most incredible things about One X is that it will even hang on text input, the simplest things are the most likely to bring it to its knees. Because the 5th core of Tegra chipsets, its always trying to do things itself and always fail. Having a tegra powered device is like driving with a flat tire, they simply do not work. Using a Asus TF300T now, thanx God its not mine, what a stutterer it is! Just like the HTC One X it ha so low performance that after a while you be happy if the freezes in the webbrowser lasts for less than 3 seconds! And this is already with Jelly Bean 4.1.1, believe it. My daughters Xperia Tipo with its single core Cortex A5 is faster than One X and One X+ combined.
What ever you do guys, do not buy tegra powered devices, they are such nightmares, you can really feel the physical pain when using it. I know many will not believe that a quadcore can have so exceptionally low performance, but try it yourselves and you will see for your self that i am not kidding here. Even Sony Tablet S, Sony fans please stay away, it has tegra3, thats all the reason you will ever need. Wait for Tablet Z, with quad Krait, no 5th core "stutter-and-freeze" generator in qualcomms chipsets.

tito73, 01 Feb 2013benchmark does not mean anything! you prefere sony ok but ... moreWhy? One X is the one known for doing well in benchmark but has no real life performance. One x will always be a joke, it barely work at all with stock ROM. The 3-issue dual core of the V is absolutly up to take one the one x and S3 with their old A9 architecture. Graphics performance is however higher on S3 and one x.

Last year Sony and HTC did in their "S" phones (One S and Xperia S) three features I don't like: no miniSD slot, non removable battery and shift to microSIM - it looked like a beginning of a new trend
But with Xperia V I happy to see a reverse of that trend
I'm dissapointed only by poor battery (Kraits should be much more power efficient then Scorpions in XperiaS) and lack of camera shutter button

'It just doesn't make sense for a phone like the Xperia V to cost about the same (and sometimes even more) than a Samsung Galaxy S III or an HTC One X.' I think it makes perfect sense considering the xperia v beats them in almost every benchmark, has a better camera, a more compact HD screen and it's waterproof. The only thing the one x and the s3 have on the xperia v is the bigger screen (of the same resolution) and jelly bean (which the xperia v will get soon). So really I think it's fine for the xperia v to be the same price, I think it could even get away with being more expensive.

it's funny that people keep saying sony makes phones with bad viewing angle because they care about your privacy and stuff...some others say that there's no difference if you look at it from right above it. If you try it then you'll see yes they are different, and they are very different. Sony's screen is poor. Just admit it.

ok... I dont get it...
They complained in the beginning stating that even when the speaker was "decent" it was better than the one on the Acro S... But in the test it showed worse.
Using the compare tool for Camera, the 12mp camera on the Acro S seems to do a better job than box Xperia T and V... Any personal thoughts about this? Am I wrong?
Other than the chipset and thinness... this phones looks like a downgrade to the Acro S overall...
The battery test done is worse than Acro S.
Internal memory is also half of that on the Acro s.
Acro S include an additional 3G band which is compatible with the biggest carrier in my country...
The Acro S even include a dock charger.
SO, is there any good reason to buy the Xperia V over Xperia Acro S (if I can live with Snapdragon S3...)???

i think i'd just wait for togarri and get a feature phone like the SE Elm when i need to carry some communication device to not to safe places.

Wi... morethat's why their phones are also pricier. ips is more expensive to produce. sony seems to focus on customers who aren't nitpicking on viewing angles. if you look at the device the way you usually would and should, there isn't any difference. the sony display even tends to be brighter.
i still hope sony changes this, though. IPS definitely looks better and makes for a product worth bragging. it's such a waste creating gorgeous designs if the screen does not look equally well when viewed from different angles.

personally i really don't buy into that mid range - high end spec nonsense. the bar is always changing and based on the current standards what makes a high end phone, only 5 phones at best meet the requirements to qualify for being a high end phone.

I have this phone and i like it very much. The battery is ok. After a normal day use i have after 16 hour around 25%. 1 hour surfing on internet takes around 20%. The screen is takes much battery. 4½ hour screen time is normal before the battery is empty.
The Power Saver App?? I didn´t find that app. Not on Play Store. Not on the telephone either!
