At last Sony is back...!!! More competitors means better products for consumers. I will go, however, for Nexus 4. Half the price of any 2013 flagship. And a final thought: October 2013: Sony Xperia Nexus...Anyone else agreeing with me? :-D

Despite the.poor contrast, i'm still going for xperia z than disposable android smart phones. Been using. SE p1i for many years and still works like a charm. My s3 died within 4months and the service center says with it's not covered with the warranty. How poor service for samsung, scamsung may be the most popular but popularity/fame. isn't everything. Back to sony. Sony ftw.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2013Here we go with viewing angles again. Sheesh! It's a minor ... moreSome other review say the display is fantastic, and very bright with punchy colors, they also mentioned almost perfect color reproduction.
So while the review here said the colors lack punch, but in amobil dot no they said the only possible downside of the display was over saturated colors like on AMOLED displays.
By the way, video camera performance at night, perfect colors, great clarity and very good detail, beats the Note 2 easily. When watchin this video, see on the bottom left when HDR is on and off, you will see why HDR has to be used with caution, esp towards the end it introduces truckloads of noise. Also watch the audio icon moving from phone to phone, and listen to the Nexus 4 for a good laugh, so pathetic, distorted beyond recognition! LG as usual! LG and HTC are really the clowns on the industry, Nexus 4 should be bundled with a big red clown nose for the owners looks to match their brain. Ok heres the video, get ready to let the Z amaze your eyes and ears.

Guys I saw this phone in person in one of the Sony Centers and if you want to buy this phone I advise you to check it yourself because the screen is horrible. I agree it has very high resolution but viewing angles are a joke and also the contrast.
As usual Sony packs crappy displays into their flagship devices - really a pity. The same situation was with the Xperia S and Xperia T. When will they learn? Don't they see what HTC is doing, what Apple is doing in this area?
And also - as we can see from this review - the whole "Exmor RS" is only marketing BS, nothing revolutionary.
This phone should be prices $600 without contract, at maximum.

In the preview, you wanted to get another XZ to make sure the screen on the tested device is not faulty and that Sony actually released a flagship with poor contrast and colour saturation. Have you done that?

What is the battery life ?
I remember gsmarena always has a section for the battery life test. I didn't see any battery lift part for this Sony phone.
I think in the future battery life is one of the most important items besides displays and overall hardware spec(CPU and RAM).

for those who's complaining/mentioning? that there's not battery life test on the review...
its been pointed out that GSMArena is running the tests and will update the review once done
hopefully its a good sign - that its taking so long - means the battery is lasting pretty well
plus dont forget they are prob going to test with stamina mode on and off? hopefully
