I would take the Sony solely based on how the UI looks. TouchWiz maybe loeaded with functions but it looks horribly tacky compared to the Sony's UI because Samsung have no sense of style.

So thereby the Xperia Z wins. No? you don't agree? Well ok. lets say that GS4 is available to me in late April or May. Then it is just 2 more months until the next killer smartphone is on the market. So why would I then buy the GS4?

The S4 is very impressive and technically better in most ways, however I couldnt bring myself to buy it as I think its really ugly, I chose the Xperia S over the S3 because of it. As for the specs is there anything the S4 can run that the Xperia Z can't? if not the Z is best cause it looks better by far and you can go for a swim with it :P

Almost all comparison only based by hardware technical capabilities which mean it maybe not suit with everyone preferences.

AMOLED poses more problems than an IPS LCD. It deteriorates so much faster. After a whole year of daily use, colors shifted. Whites become dirty and other colors have a noticeable shift in hue. They become either buish or yellowish. Compare a one year old AMOLED to a brand new one and you'll see the difference. IPS LCD stays the way it is from brand new until it dies which lasts even longer than AMOLED. AMOLED is very susceptible to screen burn in. And this unfortunate event can occur even right after a month or so of buying your phone. And this affects so many units. Check the internet for many complaints of AMOLED burn in.. Nokia Lumia 920's IPS LCD is brighter, clearer, crisper and generally better than Samsung's SuperAMOLED HD. See it for yourself, if you don't believe.

For battery life, GS4 is better than Xperia Z but XZ battery life is not bad......samsung win but GS4 look cheap/dummy phone.
GS4 screen better than Xperia Z...well according to them. (I dont like samoled)...ok, samsung win.....but SG4 still look cheap/dummy phone.
camera???( I still like sony) ok, samsung win if you say so....but samsung looks cheap and sammy phone.... i mean dummy.
HTC one, Xperia Z, iphone 5 are the best phone to chose....for me.
probably Xperia Z is my next phone.

If this two phones come in the same time, I will still buy Xperia Z. Just talk about design not hardware. Samsung was quite far away from Sony. The same in Android but Sony looks elegant than Samsung from beginning.

1. Allow attaching multiple type of attachments to emails.
2. Allow files transfer via Wifi without the need of USB.
3. Allow OTG
4. Allow more than 5 notification prompts on the lock screen
5. Allow permanent event notifications without the need to pin apps to the start screen.
6. Allow sharing of any file types onto the cloud services.
And there are alot more. Until then, Windows Phone is just a crappy OS even worse than iOS.

Now this is insulting. Just because Samsung now overtakes Apple shares, doesn't mean all Samsung users are brainwashed. Are you 100% sure that Sony and HTC fans are not brainwashed either? Are you sure that they really know what they want or looking for? Just based on what you commented already proof that you are a brainwashed person.
Perhaps those who want S4 are those who are really looking for power and good camera, rather than something that is pure gimmick like "UltraPixel"? Perhaps S4 users do not want to wash their phones in running water when the phone get overheated like Sony Z? I don't see what's wrong with that.

I think that even the review itself confirms that the performance differences, are minor. And virtually non existant in day to day life. However I feel that the Xperia Z is the more Iphonish of the two. It will just work in every environment, and it's stylish as hell. So if you like the Iphone you gonna like the Z. I'm going for the S4 from the S2. But if the Xperia iz priced better, why not? My old Xperia X10 still sorks for my father, quality manufacturing.
