I don't know if the Xperia Z really has an issue on its water-resistance. Some say the rubber protecting the slots may suffer wear and tear thus making the phone vulnerable to water damage.

They r fighting for second place behind S4 so why bother looking at them? HTC one X and X+ were close to S3 and it was worth thinking which one to pick up..but now the S4 beats the HeLL out of both xperis Z 'which sucks big time' and the HTC One

psysect, 07 Apr 2013Sorry but time stand by in one and z is 48hr..both are same... moreYou misunderstand, Standby time is not specified in the battery test, 48h is the total time you can expect using GA's criteria. Obviously Z has a much longer standby time, and thats still without using Stamina mode.

Can someone wo used One tell me honestly, about the HOme button, dobletap for app switch??? The AppSwitch is much more used than the Home button on my Z, having to doubletap every time sounds like a nightmare.

Bad button config, small display, low res camera, no card slot, extremely bad UI, i think HTC One has the recipe for disaster, which would explain why it has less than half the daily interest of the Z. Lets rename it to HTC None.

I use only Chrome now, its the best overall. Before i got Z i had Galaxy Note 2, never used chrome on it, only the stock browser, but now i feel more comfortable with Chrome.

By the way, its no secret that Nexus 4 is not a great phone, cant work around the fact that it is manufactured by LG, and it is in reality a testing ground for new Android versions, Nexus 4 buyers are being used as lab rats by Google.

I lived in a City, I guess hTC One is more suitable for me. Taking a picture at night is a big plus for me.

feres13, 06 Apr 2013The Z in my opinion can't beat the One : Design :the Z jus... moreI think your opinion is biased:

Design : the Z is thinner than one and surpisingly easy to handle, i think because of this and lightweight. Considering its a water proof mobile, one must make some compromises, you can have marginally smaller dimension and still keep a 5inch display in ZL.
But most of the ppl still prefer the Z and when you speak ergonomics the precision design and its symmetry is the only phone that can boast that it doesnt have an iphone cut.
The bane of all phones is humidity, and the last 2 HTCs i had faced issues with air humidity and unfortunately HTC warranty does not cover any damage made by air humidity and consider it the fault of the consumer. You might have missed some utube videos with Z surviving a hammer and 5secs in acid pool, but what you cant argue, is that the Z will outlive them all because of resistance to humidity, esp in the warmer countries.

Display : viewing angles DO matter, in the living room, not in the palm of your hand!
And even if you dont have a need for some privacy, there is no angle you can hold the Z, so that you can not read what is says, it just loses more contrast than other flagship. This is only a matter for the AMOLED fans to brag...

Speakers : Yes they matter, if you are one of the mofos that walk down the street listening to the music by their mobile speakers, while holding their mobile by their ear. Apart from embarrashing their selves and annoy bystanders, they will most certainly inherit hearing issues because of this habbit.
Personally i would be embarrashed to ever do smth like
that, so this is why headset was invented.
Besides in most of the countries, the Z comes with the cool speaker sphere accessory, which is wirelessly connected (bluetooth)with your phone, just by a touch (NFC) and is louder and produces a better sound than any phone loudspeaker.

UI : Sense used to look better, but the sense One uses is heavily criticised even by the most avid Sense fans. At any case, you can always have a customasible launcher, and what really matters is how light the installed UI is. Sense is traditionally the heaviest launcher there is. Sony had some issues before, with updating their devices, but this time they made an ultra light UI, exactly for the purpose of minimising transition issues and the proof is that they made an update just in a few days after a reported issues with some devices.

Camera : Both cams will eventually be improved with later software upgrades, but what cant be changed is the hardware and the optimal capabilities of it.
This test has proved which phone has the optimal capabilities...

Processors : You really cant name one game or app than can make the Z to lag and one can run it better.
The difference is only in the benchmarks and it is so small, that it will never matter.
IMO not even S4 advantage wont matter either, the differences after the Nexus 4 are really unsignificant...

Storage : 16 Gigs of games and apps and 32-64GBs of media should be enough.
High quality video and photos need a lot of extra space. But honestly i believe that a total 32 for all should be enough.
The advantages the SD cards brings are different, many apps, like some navigators only run by maps storaged in an SD card. When you dont have an SD card, you dont have the option to use them.
And in many times the devices with the larger storage, cost way much more than what one would pay to get the same difference in a SD card, let alone having the option to add the 32GB SD card, you already owned from your previous phone...
Its just a matter of giving you more options and saving you some cost.
However in certain case, these two issues can become deal breakers for the ones with limited budget or the ones who need apps that need to install data on SD card.

Battery life : The Z has much better performance in stand by and talk time, the One has a smaller display and can offer more time of smartphone usage.
                    Its matter of preferance.
In an every day use, both phones will last until you return home, in a trip, the phone that offers the best stand by time and talk time will be the most reliable solution, as a phone.
If i have to choose one to take with me at my summer vacations in island, or winter vacations in a snowy mountain, i know which my choice would be...

they are not more than enough because Problems is Jelly Bean

Google has ruined the whole experience. My nexus 4 feels like an old galaxy s2 after 3 months of using. i have reset it 5 times in 3 months. each time i do cache cleaning in 4.2.2 android, it clears 300 to 500mb of cache. clearly its way of handling memory management is not good. for me Gingerbread was the smoothest Android.

If manufactures can add good memory and task management then one of these will do me good specially the ONE only because of its Stock Browser and Looks.

Both phones are more than enough for daily use. Review and comparison is just to tell people this phone got what strength and weakness and that phone got what. There is no perfect phone, just a phone which can suit you perfectly. I will pick either HTC one or Sony Xperia z anytime but I too don't like Amoled or Super Amoled or whatever it is being called nowadays.

It is a joke some people still keep mentioning viewing angle as a a turnoff, I know SLCD is way better, but people should really know why the "viewing angle" of XZ is not good enough, the contrast ratio is the factor which is affecting the viewing angle, it is disturbing for a flagship phone and with the fantastic Sharp panel, it could have been better. Some people it was meant to build this way because the japanese like privacy, it is for them to know and for us to find out.

I seen a lot of people bringing up S4 vs HTC one screen but my vote have to go to HTC one, there is a very big weakness in Amoled which the galaxy users either doesnt know or they refused to accept the truth, the structure and arrangement of the LEDs in Amoled. It is seriously affecting the lifespan of Amoled and this even one of Samsung's high management staff admit.

For some people burnt mark dont mean anything but for some of us folks who get subsidized contract phone every 2 years or so, it mean a lot. Burnt mark will affect daily usage for 2 years and it certainly affect trade in price.

iush, 07 Apr 2013S4 had better screen.. My Preference There is two point:

lcd3 in one: brighter - sharper and most really colors - with show better white color - better dpi.

Superamould hd in s4 : with show the best black color - high tone colors that stand out of realit then lcd3.

I respect this case is personal but I prefer really colors..
U can find more comp in the other sites.
