Probably because its 512 MB of Ram this phone won't be upgradable to WP9. WP8 support ends in one year:

I was eagerly awaiting for the Lumia 720. I wouldn't mind sacrificing a bit of screen res at that price but most importantly the battery capacity which was a big plus. However on learning that it only has 512Mb Ram and only comes with map of your country with free Nav, I was put off. I might as well fork out an extra 40euro and get an S3 + extra battery or the new Xperia SP which also with an awesome battery.

Seriously if nokia cud fit dat much stupendiously awesum battery in all its lumia,s then it will b one f plus features. I really hope it gives some more updates to lumia,s as m now eager to buy a windows phone now. Nokia is superawesum company and its winning back android fans like me with all that differentiation in its lumia series.. Nokia is making windows more and more exciting day by day and frankly i cant keep my hands off it now it seems, special thanks to gsmarena team and the reviewer for putting a gud hardwork and concluding it in a unbiased manner......

i'm sorry, but whoever says WP8 lags is completely clueless or never tried a WP device...i have a Lumia 620 - which has same dual-core 1Ghz, 512MB and Adreno 305 as 720/520 - and it NEVER lags! also i didn't find any app so far that would not run...actually, besides the heavy 3D games, i think the only app that requires 1Gb is TuneIn but hey, that's the devs fault for not optimizing their app properly!

WP (like iOS) is optimized for running smooth at lower specs - that's why we still didn't see any quad-core iOS/WP device!

just because Android needs quad-core doesen't mean other OSes needs it too ;)

In the comparisons given at the end, I think it's also important to note the Lumia 620 inexplicably comes with the superior Here Drive+, while the more expensive 720 comes with the crippled regular version. It makes no sense that the cheaper 620 is more attractive on the navigation front.

The very reason 512mb of ram is a no-no in these time and age.

Why would he recommending a phone that lags, crashes left and right, with malware infested running in background eating battery, and factory reset prone over this phone that is super smooth and running on stable OS.

Maps available for only one country? What the heck? I have them all in my E5, or more properly in the memory card of my device!
And can we, at last, put some WP8 apps on the Micro SD card?
I would like to know if they resolved the smartphone cache memory bug.
Last point, I am still waiting for an inbuild FM radio.
Otherwise, everything looks okay, just that the Nokia Lumia 620 would probably be cheaper and have almost same assets than this brand new Lumia 720.

Nice. I m gonna buy this, a red or black one.
Camera with a 'f1.9'. Thats wht I like the most. Lenses, cinemagraph feature is just cool. No more jumping frm apps to apps to play with effects & editing tools (as in crapdroids). Its a complete package.
The way LiveTILES Update is wht a smartphone should boast like a 'Smart' Phone. And the way WP8 Operates smoothly is a icing on the cake. 512MB RAM Gonna stutter with some high end Games may b, but I dont play games on mobile, I like to play Games on my PC Only, So I am good.
                                    Bye bye SCrapdroids.
I am just sick of Pricey Samdung Brick Shitts.
Sold SGS2 for Rs. 5000 a week ago.

[deleted post]6.7MP is the sensor resolution, but you can't take a 6.7MP photo. The Lumia 800 has an 8.7MP sensor but the maximum photo resolution is 8MP.

It's because Nokia designed the sensor to offer maximum resolution in both 4:3 and 16:9 modes, but it can't use ALL the pixels.
