In the world of all things PRISM spying and access to all things Google (and Android), restrictive but incomplete OS's by Apple and MS, easy access to Facebook, Twitter etc by certain parties, really there is no one OS on the market that offers personal security and performance. Do I have to go back to Blackberry for even a hope of security. Certainly even Apple is now just ordinary in today's world. All these so called upgrades by Apple, Android and MS are missing the point. You mobile leaks like a sieve.

Hooray, Apple finally does some of the things everyone else has been doing for years and Apple fans are rejoicing that they're getting so many "new" features. Jelly Bean has truly left iOS behind, it's years ahead now.

I use an iphone and i can say other than the looks, apple hasnt really done much in this update. They have not really given us something that is already there on the market. It seems Apple tries to make its consumers conform to what it wants and not actually listen to what they want. I am waiting for the day that people will wake up and smell the coffee. The homescreen is still the same, the search feature cannot search within applications like the Mac Search feature and 7 years down the line the OS cannot identify simple things as a phone number. If i save a number as +260977123456 but then dial it in the short form without the country code as 0977123456 the iOS cannot detect that the number is the same and this sucks because this not all carriers offer a short form wHen receiving phone calls. In my case where AIRTEL will give me a full number including the country code while MTN will give me a shortened version of the number, it becomes a hustle because i have to save a number twice in my phone for the caller ID to show since i tend to switch my simcards around. This is a huge redundancy in a so called intuitive and innovative OS. all phones have been able to do this including monochromatic phones and yet a "smart phone" cannot accomplish this task. The hardware is pretty much the same really. we want bigger displays apple. the tall iphone 5 is sooooo awkward to use

Every other company afterwards fell over themselves to make something similar and it took a few years for Android to gain some originality.

Premium hardware? Revolutionary os? I hope it's supposed to be a joke, it is still the same old restrictive crap. As others said the only thing good is multitasking wich has been in the game long before in other platforms. It's the same limited device with no bluetooth no usb otg, the same os that you can't modify, the same phone without micro sd and with ireplaceble battery, and with at best mediocre hardware compared to the latest flagships of all other phone makers, and with a price that is at least to times higher that would deserve i sincerly would not pay more than 250 euros for an iphone 5, there are other phones out with same specs and without the crapy limitations imposed by apple.

Those lacked camera flash. The 3GS finally got bumped up to 3mp and vga video while prior to it's release the Omnia HD came out and had 8MP and was first HD capable phone.
And yes multi tasking only just began in the era of 3GS/4. Can't recall which......They called that multi tasking????????

Anonymous, 16 Jun 2013Hehe. You agree thoughFor which reasons would I do not agree? The at least two first iterations of Iphones were NOT smartphones, in spite of apps, as, for me, the OS at that time was unable to multitask properly, and still was until quite recently. Asha line phones from Nokia was not expected to be smartphones for this reason, and IOS would be, in spite of it? If one say so, he or she needs to get real and begin to get informed himself or herself much more than he or she is actually.
And to all, have a nice day, or night.
