Omg.. what a crap screen like that, even if it come with Snapdragon1000, 4GB RAM and 40MP camera, I will not buy one.

But if it was at the price of a Galaxy Tab 7.0, well then I don't mind getting something slightly smaller.

    Just saw the Unboxing of Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The phone looks great, but along with size screen & price the phone should have been provided with Smart Bluetooth® Handset SBH52 as default headsets.

          Only 2gb ram-most devices with 2gb ram have nearly 1gb ram free with a many running apps thanks to better ram management.
          Ofcourse future devices will have more ram as future apps will need it.

            AnonD-90736, 01 Aug 2013Would you like reasons for a giant phone ? No problem, 1) ... moreThose are not good excuses if it cannot fit my pocket..

            I can do those things and better with a ultrabook, especially with a limiting OS like android, And a small phone for mobility.

            Exciting moment for intel powered haswell, good battery / horsepower compared to this.

                  1) better gaming;
                  2) watching videos;
                  3) looking at pictures;

                  5) much easier for work purposesespecially using word, excel,powerpoint
                  6) many other types of apps will benefit from the bigger screen, reading books for example;
                  7) the ability to add a bigger and more powerful battery;
                  8) due to 7) more likely to accept a more powerful chip;
                  and the list could go on and on, need I say more.

                              Era of giant phones.

                              I always ask myself the pro of having a giant android phone:
                              1. Battery life
                              2. Screen size.. (Fatter video / picture viewing? - can zoom further in browser?)

                              Then the con and bad points flood in:
                              1. No mobility, no place to keep
                              2. Totally no additional information to take advantage of the increase screen size (Android's fault) - everything is just stretched to fill screen.
                              3. Heavy
                              4. lower resolution
                              5. Joke for others when placed on your ear..

                              I just do not understand the rush for giant phones... remind me of those 1980s huge block phones... only difference: now is huge plate phones.

                                    Truthfully It is Indeed a no-mercy pre-emptive strike against the Samsung Galaxy Note III. Unfortunately Its Price Rivals A notebook. I mean if i add a couple more dollars i could get one decent gaming notebook. Looking forward to the Galaxy Note III. The only deciding factor for between these two is going to be the price. Xperia Ultra Z makes up for the 1 GB ram with its screen size and IP58 Certification and the cool Unibody.

                                        AnonD-166368, 24 Jul 2013I like Samsung Mega launcher more than Sony xperia launche... moreLauncher can be modified bro, and that is the beauty of Android, tot some proprietary features are rather hard to get an alternative. And honestly both of them don't come with a big battery capacity (3200 - 6.3" vs 3050 - 6.44), ZU is worse than Mega, though Mega get a 60hrs endurance rating from Gsmarena, so ZU shud hav at least 50++, n don't forget Mega hav a removable battery but ZU doesn't.

                                        Spec wise, ZU is far far better than Mega, plus IP57 w/d proof.

                                        And the last deal breaker will obviously be the price, currently Mega cost rm1599 in my country Malaysia, a mid range phone's price which is reasonable since it offers a mid range spec. On the other hand, ZU is yet to be release, but since it offers a high end spec, I guess it will hav the same price range with the Z which is rm2199 on newly release in my country.

                                        Although they r in same category (crazy big phablet), but thy r in different range, mid n high end, the choice is yours.
