HTC Butterfly S review: Evolution complete

21 August 2013
The first Butterfly was somewhat of a wasted opportunity for HTC, the limited reach and high asking price preventing the 5" 1080p monster from becoming a global winner. Back then the company was merely...

      i got excited for nothing.
dear htc, if i want plastic i go to samsung (and in this case the make "prettier" plastics than u did with this one). the display is on par with the build quality. the tst shows, the old butterfly had a better display, and that the ONE knocks it out of the park. and on sunlight legibility, an SG S II, is miles better. oh, and why remove the OIS from the camera HTC? and there is the price...... phuck that. you are asking alot, no offense. this couldve bean a great phone; pity...
u really want a winning recipe htc? put these internals, aaaanndddd, the micro sd slot into the ONE and i will sell my soul to own such a phone.

from what i know about the displays. The LCD displays strength(and efficiency) lies in displaying white while AMOLED on blacks. so with devices that have LCD panels, shouldn't the interface have white elements
but sadly only LG UI has lot of white elements in it.

To me, this seems like an ideal phone. The price tag of this phone is roughly 5,300 HKD (apox. 680 USD)in Hong Kong. As it stands, it seems to be the better choice for those in east Asia (when compare to the One).

I've personally tried using the One, but the battery consumption was way too quick with 3G/LTE enabled. Then again that is just me handling everything on the phone, email, videos, web surfing, etc.

If you are in need of a new phone and have access to purchasing this phone, I would highly suggest it.

Kudos to HTC for making this alternative.

For its price, 16 GB is disappointing. That's why smart buyers buy Xperia Z instead. Cheaper but almost the same quality.
