Apple iOS 7 review: Eye of the beholder

Apart from that, I really do not understand how can a company force its customers to change a product so much from the state it was originally purchased without giving to the possibility to restore it to the configuration it was at the date of purchase. The Operating Software is a main feature of a smartphone and any change should be retroactive.
Imagine you buy a car, imagine you bring it to the official mechanical service of the manufacturer for a maintenance service, then they give you your car back and you realise it goes 35% slower, consumes 30% more gasoline and the seats colour is different: what would you say?
A class action should be taken against Apple....

Well, I have two identical iphones and I upgraded iOS 7 only on one: after several months use my conclusions are the followings:
1- iOS 7 drains 35% more battery than iOS 6;
2- iOS 6 is 30% faster than iOS 7;
3- iOS 6 is by far clearer than iOS 7 (better contrast, smaller icons transmits a less "overloading" sensation on the screen, better depth of field, colours combination are by far less confusing);
4- iOS 7 icons design are uglier and by far more tiresome than on iOS 6;
5- Ringing volume is 30% lower on iOS 7 than on iOS 6;
6- Many tiny stupids new features on iOS 7, but no real and desired novelties (no Bluetooth "open protocol" communication, no "drag and play", no external storing device reading compatibility, etc..).
I am professionally involved in marketing business and I always try to guess what could be the result of an hipotetical market qualitative survey evaluating the acceptance of new products: I would really be surprised if this new iOS 7 would score positive results...Apple probably performed this survey (whatever conclusions it gave, to consider it valid, the survey should be done on a worldwide scale, not only USA!), but probably they will never reveal the result....long-term sales outcomes probably will reveal it!

Battery concern, you can not access music when your phone is locked, unlock scroll will not move some times, gets stuck until we restart mobile. iOS6 was much better update than 7.

The Battery Life is the worst I've seen in my iPhone after I updated to this version..It is really heavy on battery. Apple needs to send out an update to at least make the battery life as much as it was on iOS 6 if not more !!!
I can't even go back to iOS 6
Worst Update Ever !

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2013iOS7 is NOT a disaster. Have you read the reviews? Have you... moreI don't know about the other person, but I have used it and agree it IS a disaster. By the way, the REVIEWS by REVIEWERS are no substitute for actual usage that someone lives with day in and day out. There are plenty of positive reviews of products that have flopped over the past xx years (pick a number).
Only fools purchase a product on another person's review without first testing the product themselves.

One thing that i like about iOS over A... moreI told people this would happen. Apple had to pull developers from the Mac team to work on ios 7 to get it out the door. Battery drain, lag, bugs, 2x as many app crashes on 5s as compared to 5 or 5c.
All part of the premium Apple experience I guess.

It should also be noted that since IOS7, you can stream your pruchased movies/songs from the store without having iTunes Match. It's very useful to be able to stream movies to all your devices without having to take up any space on the device itself.

there was a time when iphones didnt freeze, its over now, my ip4s freezes for few secs when I wander in pictures gallery. If I had not bought too many expensive applications (because you can not sell them) I would get rid of iphone gladly. Sick of itunes either.

Although many are liking iOS 7 but I think that Apple copied it from a lot a other OS. Like many of its app's symbols are copied from the Symbian bell version...

One thing that i like about iOS over Android is that it is more smooth, responsive and consistent. Yes they bring some cool feature from android and other os and
Sure, you expect bugs in a new release, especially in such an overhaul, But this kind of bugs!!! I saw ios7 running in my friend 4s. I have to say it's very slow and unresponsive.

I upgraded to iOS7 on ip4s, ipad2 and ipad-mini. There is a slight lag, but its still acceptable to me.
Also noticed the battery drain issue. But glad its fixed in iOS702.
