Samsung announces One UI 5 Watch
Samsung announced its latest smartwatch OS – One UI 5 Watch and it brings improvements in three main areas - sleep tracking, activity tracking and user safety.
One UI 5 Watch brings Sleep Insights UI which complies a sleep score for each night’s rest with specific metrics on sleep phases, blood oxygen levels and snoring hours. Sleep Coaching will now be available on the Galaxy Watches directly and will help users with building healthier sleeping habits. One UI 5 Watch devices will also bring seamless integration with SmartThings-compatible devices to help switch off connected devices when the watch detects you are asleep.
The new update also brings new fitness tracking features including personalized heart rate zones for running, real-time running analysis and a customized interval training program. One UI 5 Watch devices will also bring five workout intensity levels including warm-up, fat burn, cardio, hard training and max effort. Galaxy Watch 5 Pro users will be able to search and access GPX Files via Samsung Health and use the expanded Route Workout setting for running and walking.
One UI 5 Watch also brings an updated SOS feature for direct communication to emergency services to relay information on the user’s location and access to their medical information. Fall detection will be activated by default for users aged 55 years and older.
Samsung will launch the One UI 5 Watch beta later this month for Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro users in US and South Korea via the Samsung Members app. The upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series will boot One UI 5 Watch out of the box.

The fact that Samsung barely gave any updates to Watch 3 series makes it the last Samsung watch for me. They could have given One UI 4,0 without any problems but they simply don't care. My next watch will be from Garmin.

If it is accurate then it will be game changer and will dominate the wearables marketplace for all foreseeable future. Blood sugar is more important than heart rate most of the time.
