The proximity sensor gets dirt covering the lens hole and it thinks it's next to your face. I take mine out of the case and wipe the screen, The sensor is next to the speaker that you put to your ear. This usually solves the problem. This is just a hand held computer and subject to freeze ups. I just pulled the battery until I realized what was happening with the proximity sensor.

I liked the original Samsung ativ s, but was slow, this second version is alot faster and runs multiple apps without slowing down, it's basically a Samsung galaxy s4, but with windows , for all you guys out there wanting to upgrade to windows 10, there is a way to do it, I'm in progress for upgrading now. And Sam... morevery right, Samsung should take the lead to launch Ativ SII window 10 on S5 or S6.
I asked Microsoft about up gradation of ATIV SE to Window 10, they replied NO

It's hardware is great .performance is great with 2 GB ram and quad core brilliant processor.what the hell problem with Microsoft and Samsung not putting it in upgrading to windows Mobile 10.if anyone can help out?

Yes it's working in Europe but phone most be unlocked form VERIZON I got my from eBay used of course 😊
