The keypad tones are very fun to listen to.
Tough phone.
Will make you happy.
Cheap too.
Can handle huge memory SDHC cards. Love it.
The LED light is awesome.
Very good for rough and tumble use.
You can toss it around or drop it with no fear.

This mobile has the strongest flashlight of all cellphones with flashlights! I never expected it to be that powerful, in fact you can use it in total darkness without hassle. Its music player even can play for houyrs without sucking too much power and it has a setting where you can put an equalizer background that is accurate. I used its flashlight in mountain climbing Mt. Kanlaon last week. Very useful!. Its torch can be turned on when the keypad is not locked. Its NOT true that even when the keypad is locked, the torch can be activated.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2009I'm thinking of buying this B2100 but hesitant in a way tha... moreThe Samsung is definitley better than the nokia 6303! The user interface of nokia is too BORING and the samsung b2100 user interface has a high tech snappy feeling. Its screen is even bright. It has high tech music player with nice equalizer. All nokia phones have a same, common user interface.

Tough Phone, 20 Dec 2009I just bought a GREY and Black model at SM Cebu City, Phili... more@Tough Phone
I estimate the light from our B2100 to be around 6 lumens. This is basing it from my 9 lumens (minimum power mode) Fenix LED flashlight. And yes it does offer one of the best mobile flashlight beams I've seen so far. OT, those "LED Lenser" lights from Hahn Manila aren't really very good. I have a hunch your B2100 will outlast it by several years.

it'll be perfect if :
1. screen resolution at least QCIF
2. no more than 15 mm thick and 48 mm wide
3. there is at least LED flash for the camera

I just bought a GREY and Black model at SM Cebu City, Philippines Junrex for Cash Php 5,975.00. Inserted a 4 GB Sandisk card. Very handy.
The most important thing - the LED flashlight is VERY BRIGHT. It's even brighter than my dedicated LED LENSER flashlight.
Very rugged and tough build.
The price does not hurt my budget.
I feel very safe and secure that if I drop this thing, it will not break easily.
Basic phone I use as a backup.
Until I buy the Nokia E72 whose price has now gone down from the stratospheric Php 21,000 to just over Php 18,000.
I highly recommend this phone.
For its features, five stars out of five.

I'm thinking of buying this B2100 but hesitant in a way that the screen resolution is very low and quite small. What I like is the ruggedness and the torch. Can anyone please reply which is better this B2100 or the nokia 6303. Thanks!

i m r a n, 15 Dec 2009whteva u'l are takin about "samsung B2700" is your answer..... moreSamsung b2700 wasnt successful because of its poor performance. Its battery life can last for merely a day which defeats its outdoor purpose. Samsung b2100 can last for up to 3-4 days with standard use which they have improved. I think that b2700 has features fit for outdoor use like digital compass, altimeter and also a flashlight but due to battery's poor performance and it keeps on freezing, it didnt become successful. I think they improved the battery life and improved the "RUGGEDNESS" by releasing samsung marine. A lot of people have negative comments about samsung b2700. Samsung b2100 is the better choice because its battey life is meant for not hitting the socket for days plus its handy flashlight which is useful in night adventures in camping. Samsung b2100 has better mp3 sound in speakers and headphones than b2700. Plus Samsung b2100 has an equaliser which b2700 doesnt.

Its been a while since i had an outdoor phone, my first was the siemens m65, and the b2100 is rocking the boat, as for features i would agree with the other people here about the phone not having an altimeter, thermometer and compas
