well the steps that jack said is correct... that's if you are using the new version of kies... but if you are using the old verison of kies then follow the following steps:
1. uninstall Kies if you have already installed it
2. install dontnetfx35-vista_x86, given in cd no.2 that came with the mobile set (i have windows vista)
3. now install Kies given in cd no.1 but you HAVE (MUST) select custom settings, cause default settings doesn't have the internet option
4.restart your pc/laptop
5.connet your phone to USB,open Kies,right most down corner of the home page of Kies hav option for internet called Tethering
6. select it and follow instructions like connection name and Country
7. now connect your Corby Pro as modem

I have this phone for 2 months now, no regret its one of my favorite phone with good specs, though it could have been better with auto focus and with mobile office, other than these two its almost perfect for me, im buying 2 of this for my wife and daughter

in last version of program when u install kies u should choose INSTALL ALL but in older version u should choose CUSTOM INSTALL in order to install internet connection
now start kies, conncet ur phone to pc and w8 recognize it then select TETHERING (earth icon)
then click on setting (gear icon), in new windows click on NEW button then choose ur country choose ur network provider and if ur country wasnt in the list select OTHER and write APN NAME and PHONE NUMBER (phone number in many service provider is *99# if not call them and ask) then click on connect button

I just got this phone and I gotta say it's pretty cool. It's got a good performance all round, keypad is very user friendly and convenient, sound is pretty decent, bluetooth and GPRS speeds are very very fast, the touch system is very good and perfectly sensitive, headphone quality is really brilliant (but don't wear it if your on the road cuz it blocks out all ambient noise and you might just be an accident victim :p).
Generally it's a great phone with a lot of options and a lot of features for a very affordable price. However, the browser could be better when browsing large sites cuz you gotta keep moving the screen around (with your finger that is) if your reading anything such as a pdf. Also it gets a little laggy if you open many applications in one go, mainly the browser fails to open large pages if many apps are open. But sometimes restarting the phone helps. Widgets are amazing but try not to crowd the screen cuz it gets slow. Design and placement are amazing.
One of the main problems I'm having is using the Kies. It gets annoying at times and there is a problem when I try to download apps for the phone cuz it asks to update and doesn't update actually or gets stuck somewhere in the middle.
But overall it's a really great phone for a very affordable price.
Samsung, hats off to you guys! Well done!

this phone looks awesome. with large touch screen & qwerty keypad.. i guess this is the cheapest 3g phone with goods looks & features available in india. At present it is available in bangalore at 9100/-

hi jane,
Just bot a corby pro. Unable to use phone modem for cnctng pc to inet. Only 3 options in phone for pc conectivity.1 mass storage 2 multimedia 3 Kies. I cud not cnct on either i got xp desktop and win7 laptop.Doesnt work on either. tried direct windws network set up but windows recognises modem either as mass media or multimedia only.
thus has ppp problems. tried extra comand by isp still does not work.
Blue tooth works just enough to send file by file and card etc not seen in explorer. Kies does not have a good message manager either. PC Suite recognises the modem onlycas multimedia in both settings also the connect to kies setting. Samsung doesnt provide only driver support. Looks like I am stuck up. Multimedia is noy that imp. PL help me.

Hi frnds, i have purchased samsung corby pro which is my first multimedia mobile, every thing is fine with this but i could not access the wi-fi, here in my university we are hvg a wi-fi signals and are detected by the phone but when i connect "No response from AP(Access point)" what does that mean exactly and what to do?
